with a description, when I click on the cell next to it the box changes with different info in it. This is NOT a comment box (meaning there is no little red triangle or anything). I can't figure out how to make this or change edit the contents of these boxes. Help!

This is not an error message. It is supposed to happen, whoever made this spreadsheet (not me) inserted these comments so that when you click on the cell it shows helpful info. But they are not the excel comments I am used to.

It may be a validation issue. Select the cell, then go to Tools, Data,Validation, if I am not wrong. Just follow the tabs on the top and you may be able to change the information or change it to Any on the Input section to not have any pop up box. Also check on the messages and delete them, if necessary.

What do the messages say???
Please re-post and describe your specific problem, with the name of the program you think is causing the problem and all error messages (if applicable) and a list of your PC, components, and operating system.
If your machine hasn't completely given up the ghost, reboot the darn thing to see if you can re-create the problem, taking careful notes on everything YOU DO along the way. Write down any error messages you encounter and don't leave out any of the "techno-gobbledy-goop".
Then, we can try to help.
