God has already done enough. Do we ask the sun to shine harder? Man must do his part. Go up to a chalkboard and write the problem 2+2= then go sit down and pray for God to solve it. You'll be sitting there a long time waiting for an answer? We should pray for spiritual guidance then use it to do our part. God helps those who help themselves.

Yes, God can get people out of horrible situations. He got the Hebrews out of slavery in Egypt, and that was looking hopeless. But, the person living on the streets has to really want to change their ways and meet God half way. I don't mean that the person living on the streets was a bad person, but they must have made some bad decisions somewhere along the line or that person wouldn't be on the streets. I know that when my marriage broke up, I was a mess. I wanted to fix myself, so I saw a therapist for a few years, went to Al Anon meetings, restarted a Bible study. It takes a lot of work to change habits and thinking patterns, and God allows us to accomplish this work. It's a more loving way of helping us than waving a magic wand.

Yes he can. But God don't force anyone to get out of certain situation. The person should open the door for God to drive his life and also should be an active member in this procedure. This means this poor person should be working hard, seriously and go only in Jesus' ways no matter what difficult they are.

If someone if poor living on the streets tell them to go to the nearest church and ask for help, if the first church turns them away go to the next one. Eventually you will find what you need. I know because I have been there and thats the advice an old Preacher gave me one time and it worked. If God spoke the world into existance, he can certianly work in peoples lifes, the problem is we try to solve our problems ourselves. Jesus say come unto me all ye that are heavy laden and I will give you rest!!!

The Church is referred to in Scripture as the "Body of Christ" so yes God can really get people out of situations when the Body gets busy with meeting needs instead of building elaborate buildings. IN the Early Church the true believers met in homes it is going slowly back to that, and that will free more resources to spend on the Poor, I am a Pastor but when our church gets too big for the house we branch some of them off to the home of one of the others and they start there. Then we have the ability to not have building funds but to have helping funds.

Yes He can. Although you're nto going to stumble on a winning lottery ticket. It takes hard work, belief that you will overcome, and Faith that we are here for a bigger purpose. (So as not to give up when life is overwhelming.) God helps those that help themselves they say. People always ask "Why does God make me an alcoholic?" or "Why did God let me lose everything in the fire?" Genetics and environment make you an alcoholic. Dont leave the candles burning or the towel so close to the stove....Things happen because we make bad choices. Not because god wills them to happen. God can open up possibilities and change hearts, but we have to take action as well.

Believing in reincarnation, and therefore karma, I believe folks in horrible situations are there because of a lesson they chose to learn while in spirit. It's something they need to learn. So therefore I don't believe that God will get them out of this kind of situation.
However, if we find ourselves in a situation caused by some other reason, I know God will help. Short story: I was raped when I was young. My rapist wanted to kill me. At this point I was pulled out of my body through my head. I sat on the sidelines and watched my body speak with him. Suddenly I was back in my body and he and I were on our knees. He was crying. He sent me to a friends house where they kept me for two weeks. God kept me calm all though this ordeal, and kept me alive when I should have died. So yes, I believe God can really get people out of situations. No, I do not believe that he will always do so.
may Peace be with you

The problem is the situation your in now, and if you really cared you would be on the street helping them and doing the work that is given to you, instead of faulsly stating claims and having no proof or merit to back them up.

He can and he does! I was standing in Faith one time when I was homeless with two children because the city I lived in, the rent went "through the roof" that year for whatever reason. The next year it settled down to something sane. Anyway I looked at this particular rental and prayed for favor and for God to provide. The woman held it for a month for me even though she had many other application and no down payment from me. She was not a Christian. Another time my (ex) husband had quit his job for about the 20th time and I had no food. I prayed with my then 7 and 5 year old children and said "God you promised in your word that you feed and clothe us according to Matthew".......5 minutes later a knock on my door. It was a woman with BBQ beef left over from the Fireman's dinner downtown and she said "I feel silly for asking you this but could you use some beef? I hate to see it go to waste." ....I lived in a 4 plex and mine was the first door she knocked on after deciding to do this wonderful thing. She was nervous, scared and afraid she would offend someone but she was an answer to prayer.

No. Such a person would probably be better helped by shelter, vocational assistance and, if they're an addict, drug rehab. If a good God really existed, I don't think there would be people living on the streets in the first place.
