is there a way you can get a body scan to search for tumors. I'm curious and felt that sure would simplify things. It sure would be nice if every one could do that on a yearly basis. Wow, would that cut into the treating cancer costs.

It's probably crazy expensive, however.

Full body scans are expensive, and also expose us to unnecessary radiation, which could cause cancer!

When you say you have a family history, have you had genetic testing? Less than 5% of cancers are genetically linked.

The biggest risk factor is age, followed by environment.

If it were that easy I would be the first guinia pig to do it. Cancers does not always show up as tumors so this would not be a super effective way to look for it. I do think a full body scan once every couple of years would be awesome though as you would have a base line for what you body looked like a couple years ago if say you all of a sudden have back pain or worse pain. They could scan you and check your old scans and compare, Now they only scan the part of your body they want to look at so if a new problem comes up they have to scan you again but then only scan the part of the body where the new problem is.

It's very expensive, especially if you will pay for it. Insurance won't pay if there's no valid doctor's order.
