I am a Catholic. Catholic fundies DO exist....they're pretty much longing for the good old days of how the Church was before the Second Vatican Council. They insist on women wearing only dresses to church, covering their heads with veils, never going to church sleeveless, kneeling to receive Communion, receiving the Sacred host on the tongue, etc, etc. I am not a fundie but I see a couple of them in my church.

Yeah, i do. My catholic religion teacher said "the whole genesis book is poetical, and i dont know why early christians took it so seriously". And in the same catholic school, we were taught about the big bang and evolution and stuff.

There are people of every sect, denomination, and religion that are at least a little fanatic. I'm sure there are some individual Catholics as extreme as some of the practices of Opus Dei in the FICTIONAL novel The DaVinci Code.

Nope, I dont agree
There is a lot of disagreement in the Catholic Church as would be expected in an institution of this size.
some very fundamentalist views and some very liberal views.

No, I do not agree. There are fundamentalists in every religion - Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, etc.
A fundamentalist is one who see only their religion as the correct one and has no room for accepting the truth in other religions.

I love the word "fundie". It is a scare tactic that works to reveal people, some of which aren't true Christians, since the fearful and unbelieving will easily be moved by junior high school popularity tactics. Those who fear being called a "fundie" don't want to be left out of the clique, the group that is the world, which the Bible says we are not to join.
And catholics are not saved Christians.

there are devout Catholics. if you mean by "fundies" the ones who run around and knock at people's door and telling other people are going to hell, then no, no Catholic is a fundy.

That depends on what you mean. Catholics believe in the "fundamentals" of the Christian faith, but Fundamentalists ONLY accept the fundamentals - nothing else. That is what a Fundamentalist is.
Now, there are Catholics that are very orthodox - following the Church's teachings straight up and down the line to the letter (myself included). But we don't usually go for that "fire and brimstone" preaching that Fundamentalists often deliver.

I've met a lot Catholics, most are more liberal than me, and I wouldn't call myself a fundamentalist, but still, I must disagree as I'm sure that they are out their.
