James 5:16
'Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.'
So many of us are bound by lies that we have told to people we are close to. And that is a horrible way to live. Lies can really haunt us and it can also give the devil permanent residence in our relationships, our marriages, and our minds. You see, as long as you are living the lie, you cannot ever be free. As long as you are protecting the lie and constantly covering it, nurturing it, and sticking to it, the process of healing or getting past it never begins.

It's not as easy as it sounds! Lies are very easy to hold on to and very hard to let go of or fix.

Since we're all human and fall short of the Glory of God. That would describe all of humanity. But the difference being I serve an awesome God. Lying Is alot of work first of all. You have to keep coming up with more to cover all the others you've told. It's easier to go to Jesus and repent and ask Him to help you In this area...My goodness seek deliverance from this lying spirit ! God Is faithfull and just to forgive those who confess their sins. But don't do It thinking that you can then ..repent. Time Is Short..Don't give satan any room In your life....

This is good Godly wisdom, but don't be harsh toward "white lies".
If you said there was a Santa Claus you risked God being doubted, when your own word came into doubt.
Besides Jesus, the only totally honest man is in a crazy house, unable to get relased; because he's unable to lie about his being President George Washington.

Amen.
I am a Single woman who has refused to date for more than a decade because I got sick of all the constant lies.
I cling to verses like: Isaiah 2:22 Do not trust in mortal man, Whose breath is in his nostrils, For--in what way is he esteemed?
It is deeply lonely not being able to trust that people can be honest to my face... so I hang on to God. (Isaiah 54:1-5)
Lies cause deep life-long rifts...
Don't give them room to grow.
Peace.

AMEN!!!!!
I know a person who lies then lies to cover up lies until he can't keep it straight and eventually the truth comes out. lol
Believe me, I'm in no way making fun of the situation. Keep on preaching sister. It makes us take a deeper look inside ourselves and evidently there are a few who don't like what they see.

Hey... I am always so in agreement with you. Dont even know what I could add to what you stated here, as its truth. Any sin, including the sin of lying, is putting us in bondage and seperating us from God and His full protection. Sin leads to curse. Obedience leads to blessing.
We are called to confess our sins and turn from them. Say No to Sin and yes to JEsus Christ. There is no other way folks.
She is right on again with another great question and response. If we want total freedm from curse, we must allow Jesus to truly set us free.....

We all have carried lies with us before, those who deny it are arrogant to the truth. Lies are what makes us human, but if we can learn to let go of these lies, we can become somthing greater than ourselves.

I think everyone. . .everyone has some sort of lies. If some one says they ALLWAYS tell the truth, then that is a lie right there! It may be as simple as not telling the whole truth to spare someones feelings!

Yes, I am carrying lies just like everyone else. I think most, if not all of us understand the damages lies can bring. But it's impossible to let go of some lies... even if we want to.

The only person between you and I carrying lies is you. This STATEMENT above is an example - not to mention a violation of TOS, as this site is for asking questions, not preaching to the choir.
Funny, as an atheist, I tend to tell the truth the first time - makes life so much easier in the long run.
