What is wrong with being a size 10/12? Absolutely nothing!

Hollywood isn't real life and size 6 is hardly realistic anyway. Do you honestly think you will be able to maintain that size, because unless that is your natural body type you will have a real hard time maintaining a size 6.

No, there's nothing wrong w/ being a 10/12. I've also noticed that not many celebrities are and those who might be that size are considered "plus size" in Hollywood. WHAT?! In normal society, a 10/12 is avergae. Those people are strange...don't live your life by their standards. Lose the weight b/c YOU want to. :-0
Having said that, what do you do at the gym? In order to lose the weight, you should do a combination of strength training and cardio. You know the rules about cardio - at least 1/2 hour with your heart rate reaching the "target rate" and whatnot. Strenght training is important b/c when you build more muscle, it burns fat.
Long periods of exercise are not always good for you - especilly if you do not have proper form or if you are doing something that isn't benefiting you. Quality totally outweighs quanitity.
You should also make sure you are doing the right think outside the gym....are you eating right? Have you eliminated soda, junk food - sugary, salty, high-fat foods? Are you drinking plenty of water? Do you eat a lot of fresh fruit and veggies each day?
You might want to look at your diet too if you are not seeing the results you'd like.
Going to the gym that often should enable you to see some results....good luck! :-)
Peace, love & light

No, there's nothing wrong with that at all! To a very high degree, you should weigh as much as you feel happy with weighing.

As long as you are at a weight where you are healthy, the most important part is that you are HAPPY with your weight... not that you "should be X pounds", but that no matter what you weigh, you are happy with that instead of striving to be a size 2 or something like that

That being said, if you want to lose weight, exercise is a really good (and safe) way to lose weight. In addition to that, I would recommend meeting with a nutritionist or dietitian to see if there is something else that may benefit you more.

Oh, and there are actually quite a few people in Hollywood that are bigger than a size 10 (many in front of the cameras, and TONS behind the cameras). If you are already going to the gym 4 times a week, that's a great way to stay in shape!

Why would one want to look like a hollywood star?!! Yes they are beautiful, but you forget one thing. Their lives are based on being marketable and being able to sell whatever it is they need to sell!! Having an attractive package just makes more bucks. If you feel healthy that's what matters most. But since you want to lose a bit more, try first of all with your diet. Decrease your carb intake and make sure to eat enough protein. Lots of vegetables and fruits are good too. Also, it is better to eat about 5 small meals a day then to eat 3 larger ones. Eliminate your soda intake and drink plenty of water. Those crystal light flavor packets are nice too. As far as the gym goes, make sure to vary your work out. If you do the same workout for too long, your body gets used to it and you stop getting results. For treadmill, instead of running at high speeds, increase the incline every 4-6 min. The higher the incline, the more calories you work off. Try that for 30 min or more. Then after a few weeks of that, switch your treadmill training back to jogging/sprinting. It is also good to have a bit of protein before your workout. South beach diet has a meal replacement bar out that is low in calories, low in carbs, but has 19 g of protein, and it actually tastes good!! I also take a fish oil supplement with omega 3 fatty acids. It's a bit yucky when you burp, but they are very beneficial to weightloss and your metabolism. Another thing to remember is: strength and muscle increase= heavier weights and less reps. General toning and fat loss= lighter weights but more reps.

I hope this helps some! :)

If you're working out like crazy and making no progress (assuming you've been working out correctly for at least a few weeks already) then the problem lies in your diet. Diet is too often overlooked and will definitely hold you back from your goals if it's not healthy or sufficient.

One of the big mistakes many people make is getting too few calories, essentially starving themselves to get skinny. Probably the next big mistake is thinking that exercise will allow a person to go carte blanche on the diet. Your diet should consist of healthy high fiber carbs, lean proteins and good fats.in adequate quantities daily. They should be in a ratio of about 40% carbs, 40% proteins and 20% fats as a rough guideline to start out with, taken over 5-6 smaller meals daily. Research has consistently shown that eating more often throughout the day, not skipping meals or starving yourself, and not going too long between meals shows the best results for fat loss. You have to find the right balance between getting enough calories but not too many. Go here to calculate what your daily caloric intake should be:

There is nothing wrong appearancewise with being a size 10/12, but there are health issues associated with being overweight that need to be considered. In this culture, too much emphasis is placed on appearance and not enough on health. This is why you see young women like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and the Olsen twins with skinny, malnourished flabby bodies, that skinny fat you see so often in Hollywood which I personally find very unattractive (high bodyfat percentage, almost no lean muscle). Women like Jessica Biel or Jennifer Garner are much better role models of healthiness in Hollywood and have made health and fitness a priority in their lifestyle.

Well, maybe the weight you would have to be to be a six is not healthy for you, and your body knows this. Before I started gaining baby weight, I was a size 12. When I found out about my pregnancy, I was a healthy 170. That was a healthy size and weight for my six feet tall body. When I was skinny last summer, I was down to a ten and I was too thin, it was obvious in both the way I looked and in my weight, 145-50.

I've also heard the ridiculous deal about a 12 being "plus sized" in Hollywood and in the modeling world. My sister-in-law who is currently 5'6" (her full adult height) and 165-170 and wants to model, was telling me that. I told her that's one of the reasons why I was never interested in modeling, as they have ridiculous standards and I wanted a career where I'm valued for me, not my body. I guess if I'm a 12 (likely a 14 after the birth), then I'm bigger than most of the tall models, which, after looking at runway pictures and Victoria's Secret models, I wouldn't be surprised. I think they look too thin.

Are you wanting to get to a size six to achieve some extreme, false image of "beauty"? While I'm about her height, I'm not Tyra Bank's size and for that I'm happy. It's not worth it. I'm happy with me and my body. If I'm pudgy post baby, fine. My husband will still find me just as sexy.
