to all those, 'he better not have used my money for it" peeps:
what difference does it make if the pastor used 'your' money to pay for it?!? i mean, aren't you supposed to take care of the man/woman of God..that is their life, thus their livelihood (hmmm, i feel another question coming on....)

is it vanity to comb your hair in the morning? to put on nice clean and ironed clothes? to look in the mirror to look your best? why is this not all vanity...

First it would depend on the nature of the surgery. If it was to correct some congenital defect or some deformity from an accident, then I would certainly support him. Whether such surgery would be paid for from his personal savings or from church funds would be another matter, to be decided by the parish council. If such surgery were purely cosmetic, such as tightening facial skin to reduce normal effects of aging, then I'd say it is his business how he spends his money, but I would not support such a procedure either ethically or financially.

I suppose it would depend on why he/she got plastic surgery in the first place. If it was just to look better....then I'd have to question their seriousness in relation to the concept that God made all of us and loves all of us the way we are. If it was because they had a disfigurement or burn or something, I would see that as being somewhat different.

This so called minister is most likely on a salary. That the church officials take out taxes on. What he does with his money is his business.
As to whether he should? Why did he ? Was it recommended or cosmetic.
A preacher needs to be able to see to read. Drooping eyelids could interfere with that. Or a big nose I guess.
Are you jealous or something? Why attack the man of God over such trivia?

I would look him in the Mirror and say...What are you doing fool? Then I would shave his new face and get on with life. (Hint I am a Minister!)

i would be upset because in the bible it says you can not disfigure your body . or mutilate it in any way. i am a convert to islam and all my years in church the preachers always taught that. so i would feel it was saying it is ok to not be happy with gods creation. very sad/

he woudl be a a hypercrite and would lose all faith that i may have had!

I can't see how this could be any parishioner's business. How could your getting surgery "offend" someone? Are they expecting the church to pay for it?

No it would be fine with me.You have to feel good about yourself whoever you are.It shouldn't effect his preaching or message to the church at all...It may build his confidence.
