You'll be fine, the gum will be numbed either by injection or by what some dentists have these days, something called the wand which is so much better for anyone who hates injections. It will be over in a couple of minutes. And yes, 21 is not an unusual age. Often when children get their second set of teeth they have to have some out if their mouth appears over-crowded so you are quite fortunate that you haven't had to have any teeth out before now.

i got some taken out couple months ago and im 15 (because they were still milk teeth that wern't coming out), the actual pulling the teeth bit doesnt hurt at all it just feels wierd. First they give u injections in the mouth to make it go numb though, the worst injection in the mouth is on the roof of it which is a bit like a small sharp pin. but dont worry about it, it really isnt that bad. afterward it feels quite funny because you have a big gummy gap :) and you cant speak properly because of the numbness.
Good luck
xx

Yes, i had adult teeth taken out when i was having a brace fitted. It wasnt that painful. You feel a bit of tugging the get the tooth out, and they give you an injection so its not that bad.
Wisdom teeth is probably a bit more painful. I think im going to have to have them taken out very son. In a lot of pain at the moment.

My first teeth came up without any enamel on them. Every time one came up mum would take me to the dentist and he would scrape it out. I can't remember it, or the pain, but I do have a pathelogical fear of dentists and drilling!
Mum told me stories about her sitting me on the washing machine opposite the sink to drink. The liquid would eventually hit the nerve and I would throw the cup across the room (usually according to mum, into the sink). Also, because I had no teeth, food would slide into my throat and I would choke very easily. I'd go up to mum, put my hands on the floor and she would pick me up by the ankles and whack my back until the food flew out (all the time continuing her conversation with a shocked neighbour!!!). I'm still alive, so they needn't've been concerned!!

Yes I have had about 7 teeth removed from the age of about 10 to the present day some were milk teeth and some were adult teeth. It is a fairly straight forward procedure nowadays, you dont really feel any pain at all, so dont worry!

They numb the customary area of the place the extraction (of the enamel) before they actually start up taking the enamel out. It hurts extremely while they stick the needle in, yet no longer that undesirable, feels only extraordinary. then you easily does no longer sense any soreness while they are extracting the enamel, yet you sense they doing it although. on occasion, if that enamel has a huge end (root), then it would injury slightly using fact the anesthesia does not bypass that a ways into the enamel, often it does no longer injury that plenty. Afterwards, while the numbness wears out, it does sense slightly sore and the enamel around that extracted enamel, will sense a touch lose, it is common. only save ice on it and take some soreness kills if it hurts (using fact the healthcare expert prescribes).

I was around your age when I had two wisdom teeth on one side pulled out then I had the other two pulled out ten years later which almost two years ago. Anyone can have a tooth pulled out at any age.

Yes. I just had 4 wisdom teeth removed 4 days ago. I'm only 15! Mine had to come out because they were impacted. I'm so hungry, and I can't eat much of anything. I wish you the best for your appointment next week.
