I take raising my kids very seriously. After all, their future depends (to a degree) on what values they learn from me. They also need to be responsible, reliable, respectable, and all the other things that go into making a successful adult.

Everything else is just small stuff, Abdul, at least to me. I don't take life in itself too seriously. I've found that nothing lasts forever, most things work out for the best, and if you just let the chips fall as they may, life hands you some wonderful surprises.

To take life seriously does not mean you lose your sense of humor. There are things in life we can't control. We can't control the people around us. The best we can do is work for the betterment of this ourselves and the world. We have to use our individual talents to the fullest. That is the seriousness of life.

there's a time and a place to be serious, but also a time and place to just relax and enjoy life, you just have to judge those situations and circumstances for yourself. this judgment of circumstance can be based off many things, situations, beliefs, periods in your life, hardships and how to handle them, etc. it's up to the individual.
