I got a tattoo yesterday and it was fine. But this morning it is a little sore and a bit redder than yesterday. I was just wondering if it was a normal side affect. Answers are appreciated.

This is very normal...your skin just went through a beating and it's starting to heal itself. Just make sure that you are following the directions your tattoo artist gave you for cleaning. Also never listen to someone else's advice for cleaning. Always listen to what your tattoo artist tells you, you never know what they might do differently and what doing something else can do to your new awesome skin art! enjoy!

Hi, yes, it's normal for your new tattoo to become red and swollen for about the first week. AND yes, you can take a bath or a shower right after, the ink will not disappear. Put A and D ointment on it for 3 days, then switch to unscented lotion, until healed. It will peel and itch like crazy, SO NO SCRATCHING AT IT. After your bath or shower, always pat it dry, never rub and never ever put vaseline on it, that will draw out the ink. Good Luck.

yep very normal but keep an eye on it. If after a few days it's getting redder or oozing...then i'd call your doctor, could be an infection or you could be having a reaction.

Yes, it is perfectly normal. It will be fine if cared for properly. Just follow your artist's after care instructions.

Yea thats normal, it sould start to itch, also put unsented lotion on it 3 times a day DO NOT get it wet, till it heals

yeahh its normal...it may become itchy too. just put lotion on it alot ((unscented and sensitive skin))...that does the trick but NEVER get it wet until it dries!!
