I am using 2 round 9 inch pans. I have had experience that it takes away from the baking through properly when put in the oven at the same time. Please tell me how to adjust the time or temp... or should I just put them in separately??

Thanks!

PLEASE READ: both pans do not fit on the same rack so now I have 1 on the middle rack (where they both SHOULD be) and 1 on the lower rack (that is the one that worries me).

wished I had gotten tweety's advice before I baked the cakes. Oh well. They seem to be ok. They may be a little over done... I don't know. They are both a honey brown color. If it is dry I will just serve it with ice cream. Thanks for all the help.

You can put them in the oven at the same time. If they are on different racks, change the rack they are on after half the cooking time has passed. If they are on the same rack, either rotate them a half turn or switch them so that pan 1 is now where pan 2 was.

tweety has the right idea. I agree. Just do each one separately and you'll be fine. If they're on different levels in the oven, there's bound to be some problems with under/over baking....and then you'll have to start over again.

*Just play it safe and bake them one at a time - in the center of the oven, at the right height, at the required temperature.

GOOD LUCK.

trust me when I say this.I make children's cakes just take the time and bake them one at a time.you'll thank me in the long run.But if you must bake them together the pan you put on the bottom rack wrap aluminum foil around the edges it will prevent it from burning so quickly, because the bottom rack will cook faster . good luck

It might take a few minutes longer than usual but not to long, keep the temp the same and just leave it in for a little bit longer. It will be alot quicker this way than putting them in one at a time.

Don't adjust, just trade the pans around half way through.
