The beauty of Christianity is in our redemption. Christ died for our sins so that we might have everlasting life. There is no Christian that does not believe this.

As a Catholic and as a Christian, I urge all of you, my brothers and sisters in faith, to give up on the useless meandering and verbal abuse of all churches of faith. We may come from many different spiritual backgrounds, different churches with different names, but with only one God.

Shouldn't we celebrate this together? Shouldn't this be the unity that ties us together, making us Christ's one true church on earth? Isn't this what God commands of us? Isn't this what Christ died for?

Those who continue to speak out against their brothers and sisters in Christ, are speaking out only against God. Why? Because we are asked to not just bring others to Him through our words, but through our actions. How do you feel your actions are bringing others toward the church?

Yours in faith,
Miss Alexis

miss alexis,

you seem VERY intelligent...you make great points...I go to a methodist church and our preacher is awesome! he tells us that everyone is invited to our church no matter the denomination. What matters is that we are all here for Christ. In fact in 4 years i dont think i ever heard him refer to himself as a ''methodist''....he tells us that whatever title you want to put in front of it is fine, but we are Christians and thats what counts...THANK YOU ALEXIS!!!

Dear Alexis,
I was raised a Catholic and indoctrinated in the teachings of Catholicism. Much of what I was taught was invaluable - the divinity of Jesus Christ, the virgin birth, the death of Jesus Christ on the cross for sins - still what I needed most I was never taught - how to have a personal relation with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Thanks be to God, He revealed this to me directly, causing me to be born again, at a time when I least expected it and was least deserving of it. As a Catholic, I was taught salvation came through the sacraments. When I actually was saved, through being born of the Spirit, and my old sin nature was put to death and the new nature of Christ received, I began to earnestly search the Scriptures. I became convinced that many of the teachings of Catholicism were nothing more than the traditions of men. (See Mark 7:1-13). I would never suggest that (some) Catholics are not saved. I have met many Catholics who love the Lord Jesus Christ and obey His commandment to love others as He has loved us. I cannot account for their convictions. Nevertheless I do believe there are some serious errors that are taught.
You see, you can only be saved by two means either by grace, or by works. If you are saved by grace, it is a free gift, and nothing you can do will add to it or take away from it. If you are saved by works, then it is not by grace, but salvation becomes a debt owed for work performed. You are not saved through observance of religious rituals, but through faith in Jesus Christ.
But don't take my word for it - earnestly search the Scriptures, especially the writings of the New Testament. I recommend you start in the Gospel of John, then read Paul's Letter to the Romans, and so on. May God bring you into all the fullness of joy and peace that comes through believing, in Jesus name, Amen.

The denominations of Christianity like Roman Catholicism (Jesuits, Agustinians, Franciscans, Columbans, etc.), Arianism, Pentecostalism, "Eastern, Russian and Greek Orthodoxies", Unitarianism, Trinitarianism, Thomism, Shakers, Mormonism, Unification Church, Jehovah's Witnesses, Jehovism, Mariconism, Church of Christ, El Shaddai, Born-Again Christianity, Protestantism (Huguenotism, Congregational Church, Anglicanism (Episcopalianism), Presbyterian church, Lutheranism, Zwinglianism, Calvinism (Predestinationism (Absolutism))), Baptist, Methodism, Evangelicalism, Wesleyanism, Adventism (Seventh Day Adventism), Puritanism, Mennonitism, Anabaptism (Hutterites), United Church of Canada, and United Church of Christ are all christians with different practices and rites. Most of these denominations are established by recent pseudoprophets and pseudoevangelists. the one and only True and Biblically certified and authentic Monotheistic Christian Religion is "Church of Jesus Christ" which died out in Jerusalem after the death of Christ. Why are there false churches?

What has happened to the christian faith? There is always a inter-denominational disputes in terms of belief. most of the true faith had died out. Us christians must have an universal objective in order to have peace and share spiritual doctrines. If the bible is an exact science, how come other versions of the bible exist? The bible is created years after the death of Christ. We shall not dispute but live among our opinionated beliefs. GOD BLESS YOU AND TO THE WORLD. WE MUST STAND FIRM ON WHAT WE REALLY BELIEVE AND NOT ARGUE WITH IT. Gloria in Excelsis Deo.

Wow.... I read your question/statement and thought to myself, here is someone who is reminding us all of the essence of Christ's teaching. Whenever I feel judgmental about something, I always think of "vengeance is mine saith the Lord, I will repay." (or as I like to say God does a much better job of being God than I ever could, so let Him be the Judge, and I'll just do what he asks:) )

And then I read some of the answers.... how sad that we actually have Christians who not only deem to say that people from other faiths are condemned, but even their brothers and sisters in Christ.

Our job is to love God above all else, and then love one another. It's a pretty simple task, why do we keep looking for loop poles?

Peace to you my friend!

We don't call all Christians Fundies. Only the ones who profess Fundamentalist beliefs. Sometimes, I guess it can be insulting. So can being told that I am going to hell because I am not a Christian. Get over it. The word fundie is in no way like the "N" word. Not at all. That is a cheap generalization on your part.

It was Christ and His disciples that spoke against false teachers and false doctrines first...the entire New Testament is written for the early church. Yet, look at the history of the Roman Catholic Faith and how it has melded so many pagan practices into biblical principles. Read Rev 11 and you will see, perhaps, some of what has occured. Catholics are loving, generous people...however, Jesus has called you out of Babylon the City of Confusion and into the truth of His Kingdom...The Word of God. Love in Christ, ~J~

Even though there are diferent denominations, we are all after the same thing: An eternity with God. I am so glad that when we all get to heaven there will be no denominations to separate us. Every one that celebrates God is in unity. Those that don't well...
In the Bible it says, "touch not mine annointed". I just can't remember where, but I always try to follow this.

You make some points that I completely agree with. I am a Christian, but not in any traditional way. I don’t believe that it was necessary for Christ to die for our sins. God is quite capable of forgiving us without anything being done. I mean, after all he is…well…God! If you think back to the time Christ was crucified, sacrifices were not only commonplace, but they were the law. Without the sacrifice of Christ, people wouldn’t have believed God has forgiven our sins. People have need of this sacrifice and resurrection to prove to themselves that God forgives us. God did not have need of such a thing. (As an aside, no one would have believed a woman either.) Christ allowing himself to be killed is proof to me of how very much Christ and God loves us. God love is more than we can even get our minds around. People have need of His sacrifice in order to believe their redemption, God does not. Believing this I realize what an incredible amount of love it shows.
I'm not asking you to agree with me, just sharing my belief.
Blessed Be

Well said. Don't you love how self-righteous Christians like CJ love to bash the so called works righteousness aspect of Catholicism, but fail to recognize the works righteousness aspects associated with humans who believe they have the Christian faith all figured out. Any human who thinks that they know everything there is to know about God and the faith worships at the altar of self. Keep remaking God into you're image, CJ. Thank God that Jesus stands as judge and not people like him.
