Is this a co-worker? If so, then speak with your supervisor and HR person to let them know that Big-Mouth's socializing and loud talking all the time about things that aren't business-related is disturbing your work and impeding your productivity.
Try like all to avoid using the "religion" card. If, however you are of a different faith than Christian (Jewish, Muslim, etc.) you may be able to add that she is insulting you and causing a hostile workplace atmosphere. That's illegal - and grounds for suit on your part.
Then, if she doesn't keep her yap shut, you have grounds for filing a more serious complaint that could get her fired.
Of course, this is provided you are willing to stand up for yourself and are willing to put up with the ensuing fallout.
Weigh your options and see if this is viable - or whether you should transfer out of this division/company.

When you say she can't shut her mouth, do you mean she's constantly preaching the word or she's just a blabbermouth?
For the first, you can do a number of things. You could politely approach her and explain that there are some people who would consider her preaching offensive or uncouth because they may practice a different religion and her constantly preaching is getting to be very disrespectful. Or, you could state this in an anonymous note on her desk.
For the latter, you could do about the same thing as the first only leaving out the religious part of course. For this one, I would STRONGLY suggest the anonymous letter explaining how her constant yapping is causing distractions in the workplace. Or, you could go to the boss about her and explain your concerns.
Good luck!

I would really attempt to talk to her (one on one) and explain to her that her excessive chatter is uncomfortable and annoying to you. Say it in terms she can understand, use christian concepts like tolerance...and free will. I would just try to appeal to her on a calm human level...and
If the heifer still doesn't shut up or it gets worse..go talk to a boss! There is always someone higher!

Explain to her calmly that the bible says it's a sin to talk loudly and bother other people. Cite some obscure biblical passage and she'll have to believe you. After all, isn't that what they do when they try to convince us of something...?

maybe tactfully telling her about her voiced opinions that may not be agreed by everyone would help.
