my 16 yr. old son is starting a new part-time job?

if he calims exempt, can i still claim him as a dependent? What is the best way to file?

Yes, you can claim him as a dependent. There are questions on the tax forms that pertain to this.

Where are you really? Your previous question said US, this one says UK.

If you are in the US, then yes, you can still claim him as a dependent as long as he lives with you for over half the year, and doesn't provide over half of his own support.
