i believe that you are entitled to subsidised child care (possibly up to 80%) providing that you are earning under a certain amount. There may be further conditions on which this subsidy is dependant (e.g. you may need to be a lone parent, not sure). Your best bet is to contact the DWP/Benefits etc and ask them about assistance.

Gen R - she said £3.50 an hour, not $3.50

You should still be entitled to so much of the cost if you are receiving Working Tax credit and Child Tax Credit.

You could look on the web site

www.taxcredits.inlandrevenue.gov.uk

they will be able to calculate the average amount of tax credits that you will be entitled to.

Also can I just ask? How can people say that you won't be looking after your daughter as well because you have been offered a full time role. I was a single parent and had to bring up my son on my own, I didn't receive any maintenance of his dad and still had a mortgage, household bills and also my ex husband left me with serious debts. I had to work full time and I had no choice. I would like to say good luck in your job and also your daughter will still look up to you as a good parent and she will grow up knowing that you have to work hard to survive out there.

Apparently they are now offering free child placements in public nurseries for children at 3 and 4, but I don't have any more details. I know that if it's a private nursery, you will have to pay (that's what I did wrong).

depends on what state you live in all are different .Some go by if ur getting child support , how much money you will be bring home, how much you pay for rent that is usally how they determine how much you will get. some states limit what day care you can take the child to, so you might wanna think about that to , you don't want your child going just any where. good luck..............

Instead of being concerned about what you can get from the government, why don't you worry about how going full time will affect your daughter ?
