When I first began posting questions on YA, I thought that the forum itself might serve a greater good which was previously impossible...that it...free exchange between people of differing beliefs without the possiblity of blood shed.
Jihadists are about action, not dialogue or diplomacy. Go ahead and try to open up real dialogue with the Islamic community and see where you get after you dispense of the small talk and pleasantries. The moment you mention anything outside of food and weather conditions, you have the end of conversation...at best.
The point being, it occured to me, along with others, that a place like YA could very well open up avenues previously impossible. The Islamic world, otherwise, simply doesnt allow any other views to seep in...and what is absolutely amazing...astounding...incredible...is that what many people thought would be a medium by which they were powerless to control speech (net) has been proven not to be the case...they can and do.

Cricket: Your absolutely clueless. I can fit anyone into your neat little "unless they say X" list because its relative to how I define vulgarity and racism or bigotry. The truth is, to the Muslim or the Muslim apologist, anyone who cricizes Islam is a bigot.
As for your experiences, they almost certainly didnt occur within the islamic community. While there are always exceptions, I spoke to enough Muslims and studied Islam long enough to know that this is a real phenomena.
I mean, who are you kidding...holy cow....you have to be brain dead not to know that this is the most intolerant and closed community on earth bar none!

Tiruvalluvar is seen a Jaina by using Tamil scholars like Mayilai Ciini VEGkaTacaami, A. Chakravarti Nayinaar, I. Mahadevan, S. Vaiyapuri, ok. Zvelebil That Tiruvaluvar became right into a Jaina, is at maximum suitable a proposition, no longer a certainty. Many scholars have provided extra convincing arguments that he ought to purely have been a Hindu saint. S Vaiyapuri Pillai provided the two aspects of the argument. that is unfair to cite him selectively -- particularly, when I've previously counseled you of Pillai's different set of arguments, reproduced decrease than: "there are a number of couplets of the Kural that are the two translations or diversifications of Manusmriti, consisting of: - Kural fifty seven and Manusmriti IX:12 - Kural 40-one and Manusmriti III:seventy 8. This verse of smriti, Pillai factors out, has been reiterated by using Tiruvalluvar extra beneficial than as quickly as. - Kural 396 and Manusmriti II:218 " of direction, there are a number of extra arguments from Vaiyapuri Pillai that still state that Tirukkural is stimulated by using or is a translation of the Hindu dharmashastras. besides, in case you're only going to invoke Pillai's call as whether that is a pramana and then declare that Tiruvalluvar became right into a Jaina, then listed here are the words of a similar guy that Tirukkural is Manusmriti stimulated. Do you think of a Jaina monk will translate Manusmriti? Will a Jaina monk degree a king's efficay by using his ability to guard the vedic chanting of the brahmins, as Tiruvalluvar has finished? what's significant is to checklist an author's arguments and evaluate them heavily. we ought to consistently keep in mind Tiruvalluvar's observe that mere authority isn't each and everything, and the fact on my own is relatively worth pursuing.

Recently, a friend sent me a photo of a Jihadist demonstrator in England. He was carrying a sign decrying freedom of speech. I cannot recall exactly what the sign said, but the general idea was that freedom of speech is a curse which will destroy western civilization.
Perhaps I am brain dead, but I cannot understand the reasoning behind his statement, much less his failure to realize that he was demonstrating his own freedom of speech.
There is another factor involved..... fear. Arab people who have spoken out against the Jihadists have also wound up very dead.

I beg to differ. I've had correspondence with Muslims, even beyond the "pleasantries", and they've been nothing but kind. I've even debated religion with them.
Don't let the censors get you down, though. Everyone gets reported at some time or another, and I'd say it's roughly 75% of the time that those who are reported don't deserve it.
There are some of us who support free speech for EVERYONE, unless their questions/answers are vulgar/racist, or if they have a pornographic avatar.
Edit: I'm "clueless" because of my own experiences? What a silly statement. Maybe I'm a bit naive, in that I always look for the best in people, but I told the truth as I see it. If that makes me "clueless" so be it.

Atheists aren't religious, so why are they here? To slanderize and provoke negative attention. What did you think would happen. The first thing I read the very first time I signed on here was "The Virgin Mary was a Whore" thread.
It's funny because Christians evangelize out of a deep rooted love that we were either raised with or taught to have. This love drives us to alienating people sometimes, but we are still only guilty of loving too much. What motivation do Atheists have for coming to a religious forum to express their views? Is it also love? It just seems like sour, vindictive aggression to me. Reporting you is the only defense we have, our very beliefs in your opinions render us to the ignorant category so what hope do we have?

There are plenty of people that can't stand the heat. They leave the ktichen, as they should.
I don't report anyone, cos I believe in karma. Despite that, I consider a Violation Notice a form of trophy, because whatever I said prompted someone to respond in an extreme manner. Even if their response was fueled by anger, that is on them, not me.

It's not just the islamic world that is at fault... it's ALL religions.
Yes, the thin-skinned religious report squad has ruined the R & S section - That's why religion needs to be removed to it's own section/category - and have a separate Spirituality section/category, by itself.
Then we can avoid be thin-skinned religionists...

Overly religous people ruin everything. They are so stuck on their crutch that they seem to have forgotten what it's like to stand on their own two feet and take a few steps. YA is just like everything else in life though, we have the ability to ignore them

No people of any religion is going to open up and talk after thousands of years of fighting. Islamists are a different breed of cat and that will never change. They have no interest in talking. There's no bloodshed in it.

Actually I have had more atheist report my questions than I can count. I figure it just goes with the territory, no big deal, I wait about 1/2 an hour and just re-post.
