it doesnt seem to bother him and i dont think that its infected it might be as for the answers so far that are telling me to get to a vet i would go to one if i could but im only 14 years old trying to take care of my dog i cant drive the 6 miles into town to see my vet right now! I will call him later and ask i already cleaned it several times this morning with some medicine our vet gave him the last time he got a cut. i washed it with warm water and called my mom she said to put some neosporin on it and that would help but it doesnt seem to be helping the itch

First Of All, I Believe It's Infected. Take A Wet Wipe And Wipe It Against His Nose.
Secondly, Get A Bandaid [The Wrapping Kind, For People With Athritice] And Take It To A Vet. It Will Probably Recommend To Let The Dog Get Rest, And Give It A Shot To Keep It Clean. Hope I Helped!

Why haven't you taken him to a vet? I will never understand how pet owners can have, what seems to be a serious situation and go on line for help. The person you are supposed to get advice from if the situation is that bad is a VET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds like your dog may need to have the cut washed out with an antiseptic, take antibiotics and may need a stitch or two but I'm not a vet and can't see the cut. There is a possibility your dog is hurting himself on the sides of the pen. My pets have been in kennels and have come home with sores on their nose, paws, etc. The vet told me they could be trying to get out of the pen and will get worked up doing it. Please see your vet today. Good luck!

You would be suprised how many over the counter remedies that your vet will suggest for you pets. I had a dog with allergies and we gave him benedryl and it worked wonderfully. Try a topical ointment like neosporin. It is itching because it is healing but the neosporin will keep the wound from becoming infected. But if it continues to get worse you may need to take him to the vet.
Good Luck

First of all, clean this wound thoroughly, then put some triple antibiotic ointment on it to help it heal. Second of all, you need a neck donut or cone to go around his neck to keep him from scratching it back open. These should only be around 15 bucks at your local veterinary clinic, and they help a lot with dogs who tend to scratch open wounds a lot. Third call your vet and see if it's worth a visit to the doctor, he may need stitches or pain Meds.

If it starts bleeding again, get a tissue and push down on the wound. The pressure from the tissue usually will stop bleeding.
If that doesnt work, go to an emergency vet. Since you cant make an appointment that fast, go to one of them. He'll be fixed up in a jiffy
:-) hope i helped

You need to decide if its deep enough to need stitches, and try to take him to the vet if it does. If you think it's not that serious, clean it good with soap & warm water or betadine solution-then put triple antibiotic ointment on it, and a bandage if its in a place you can put one. Keep a good eye on it till it heals-check it daily- and get to the vet if it keeps getting worse.

Take him to the vet and get one of those white collars so he can't scratch it or make one yourself out of poster board.
Clean the cut and use vaseline to keep stuff out of it. If it looks infected take him to the vet.

Please Please take your dog to a Vet. It sounds as if it may be infected and that why the dog is scratching it.
Oral antibiotics will speed the healing. a Vet can treat the wound. Clean it and maybe suture it if needed.
Is better to get help early instead of waiting until it is severely infected
