My dad is thinking of buying me one since i keep using his all the time. He said to find something that didn't cost much, so i did online at best buy.
The thing for me is though, I'm extremely picky about quality and how good the camera is rated, like 4 or 5 stars out of five, but this one hasn't been rated by anyone so i don't know if i should buy it because It says its a good camera with crisp close to life images, but it hasn't been comfirmed by anyone that bought it.
It looks nice, black color, Fair Price, and it's 7.0 megapixel camera which is good enough for me cause I'm using this for basic everyday casual use, nothing professional really.
It's from Hewlett-Packward, and it's Brand new in stock,
and I want it really bad.

since you don't want something professional, the camera looks good for me.

However, since you're extremely picky (like me :D ) I might suggest a Powershot A series - something like the A550. It might be silver - not the color of your preference - but it has more options for you including manual mode. This will allow you to be more creative with your photo. Well, for something fun.

Or you can get the HP camera anyway. I don't think you're going to regret either. :)

On your additional details:

I understand that the camera's form factor is important to you. If you want a slim Canon camera, my choice would be the Powershot SD800 IS. However it goes for around $300 or more. If you have the budget for this, then this is the camera for you.

The Casio looks fine to me. Somewhat better than the HP.

The HP would be all right for close up as long as there is good light condition. Small camera like the HP (and the Casio, or any other small cameras) will not produce a very good photo when they have the flash on.

No Kodak. Noted. :)

It looks to me that the HP is made out of plastic. It looks smooth to me.

better choice
samsung 630, 730, 830
canon a570 - $175

All of the major brands are good. Choose a brand that appeals to you. Then you have to think about getting a spare battery, what size memory card, if you want an extended warranty, how much you can afford, what size zoom, if you want manual controls, the size of the camera, finding a reliable place to purchase it, and the list goes on and on and on.......

The first thing to realize is that almost any digital camera will take good pictures. If more people would read the manual more than once, they would be able to take better pictures. Usually, the person assumes it is the camera when it could be them not knowing exactly what to do. Just give yourself more photographic knowledge by doing more reading on the internet.

I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice.
The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras so they can decide on the features that they really want and need.
Go to the store and hold them so you can see if they feel comfortable in your hands. If possible, take some pictures in the store to check the quality of the pictures.
I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera.
Good Luck

my suggestion
go to yahoo shopping
digital cameras
digital camera GUIDE
be sure to check titles on the left side
the guide should answer your questions

Go to shutterbug.com and search for a review of this camera. Another good source is steves-digicams.com.

It I were thinking about a camera I'd be thinking Sony, Nikon, Canon, Pentax, FujiFilm.

I don't buy anything from them other then CDs, DVDs, cables or a media card. I don't like to buy electronics from them do to their return, exchange policy..headaches and hassles.

Try www.bhphotovideo.com demos, reviews, great prices (better then "Best Good Buy's") and a complete Professional staff. I have been a happy customer for more then 25 years now and, they have just about anything you maybe looking for.

I agree with dodol. For the same money, I'd buy the Canon A550.
