my grandfather brought this home from world war 2 .
It has been well keep.
I would like more information on this if anybody
knows anything about these i would be happy to
hear from them.

Is the writing arabic script ?

Turkey was not involved in WW2.

To correctly identify the item there are many online militaria Forums, however a close-up picture is always a great help.

Ask an adult who has knowledge of firearms or miliitary service to look at the fuse to determine if it in fact is inert.

Its always better to be safe than sorry.

I'm a military EOD Tech. and if I can see a picture of it I might be able to give you some information. If you call the police, it will me destroyed. Soaking it in water will do nothing but make the outside wet, and little else. Please send me a picture because I like researching ordnance items.

You might want to soak it in a bucket of water.

Munitions sitting around have been known to go off without notice because of a static electrical charge.

Having this item might also be illegal.
M1A1 has it right - contact the police and see if they can make the item safe.

Call the police department and have the bomb squad check it out.

I am _not_ kidding!

Unless you can certify that the burster charge has been removed you have something that can kill you.
