(FL accident) Earlier this month I was involved in an accident. The insurance paid for the damages to the car I rear ended but didn't pay my damages as I didn't have comp. I received a citation for careless driving. I am 21 and currently have 2 points and will incur 3 resulting in five on my driving record.
I really screwed up seeing as I had been paying $65 a month for insurance so far. :-/
My concern was that If I fight the careless driving ticket, It will cost me $300 but leave me with 4 elections for driving school or take the class save $150-180 but reduce my traffic school elections to 3 and leave me with none this year.
In the end, out of taking school and paying or fighting and paying more, will either option result in my insurance rates not going up so much?

Just for non-FL people a Traffic school election just means taking one of your allowed 5 times you can take it and only once per year. I took one 5 years ago and have four left in my lifetime. Thats the law on traffic school in FL.
I've heard that since my insurance paid out on damages my insurance will go up no matter what. Even without the points. Thats why I was wondering.
