why does most uneducated actors, singers and the like from the entertainment industry gets more respect from people than Top Military Officers, Scientists, Professors, writers and politicians combined???

Because it is the people in the public's eye- the models, actors, singers, that the youth of this country are attentive to and want to emulate. Regardless of example they are setting our culture places such an importance on celebrities and gives way too much attention to their lifestyles. But it is supply and demand media. When some people want to know what's going on with Paris Hilton, then entire country gets Paris. There isn't enough demand for news about the military and science.

Actually what makes you think they are uneducated.
Sting was a school teacher.
Members of AC/DC got their BA from the Berklee School of Music in Boston
They Beatles and Rolling STones ALL Graduated English High School with letters. They were all eligible for college or technical school, George HArrison went to a technical school for one year.
OK Leonardo DiCaprio got his High School education finished on the set (he was cast straight out of a Los Angeles High School for his first movie).
Most actors got a BA or MFA and attended a conservatory.
I think both Jack Lemmon and Charleton Heston both when to Northwestern
Now I'll admit few of them (Dr. Bill Cosby is an exeption) hold PH Ds but a lot of college professors don't hold PH Ds
And you do forget about Dr. Phil and Dr. Brothers and Dr. Ruth, all of whom are media giants.
Harvey Levin, the Man in the Street for People's court was an Attorney before he started a broacasting career giving legal tips on KNBC in Los Angeles.
And finally, what do you mean by WE SHOULD GIVE POLITICIANS RESPECT. March them all into the Ocean, I say!

Media. We get them forced down our throats. We admire them somewhat and think we know them. I, for one, get really tired of having to hear about what some celebrity thinks as if it should matter. I don't think it will change.
