it seems as though youve been structuralised by society. Mohammed was climbing the christian heirarchy before he broke free and founded Islam. His message derives from christian roots, honour thy father, give love, be a good person, importance of family, have a pure heart. Extremist go further and deprive woman of their rights. All muslim woman should not be categorised by this.I am christian, I have many muslim friends at uni and they definetly know and have their rights.

I'm not Muslim, but I'll give it a go.
The virgins thing comes from Surah 55 in the Qu'ran. However, the translation of virgin it may not be accurate. Christoph Luxemberg, a linguistic scholar, has traced the etymology of the word "hur" as "white raisin" rather than maiden. Interestingly, the original assassins (Hashshashin) also used the paradise full of maidens and good things approach to convince the assassins to take on tasks that could kill them.
Women's rights are based on equity, rather than equality. There are various rights, some of which have been diminished in cultural ways. The rights are written in Surah 4 and Surah 65, among others. There are duties for men and for women, as well as rights.

Seriously speaking.
There is no such verse in Quran specifying 72 virgins I am not sure if its there in hadith.
However, it is mentioned in Quran that God will grant beautiful mates for those who enter paradise due to their good deeds (fighting for the cause God is one of the greatest good deed) Islam does not consider sex as evil, its a human need and will be a reward in paradise.
Islam does give lots of rights to woman.. Just google it. or try this site

Where the heck does this thing about 72 virgins come from!!?? There is nothing like this mentioned in the Qur'an. Check for yourself.... type in the keyword "seventy-two" at the following link and you'll see there's no such thing in the Qur'an.

As for womens rights...
Misconception: Islam degrades women
Even though many aspects of Islam are misunderstood by non-Muslims, the ignorance, misinformation and incorrect assumptions that are made in regards to Islam's treatment of women are probably the most severe. Numerous verses of the Qur'an make it clear that men and women are equal in the site of God. According to the teachings of Islam, the only thing that distinguishes people in the site of God is their level of God-consciousness. Due to this, many people are surprised to find out that Islamic Law guaranteed rights to women over 1400 years ago that women in the Europe and America only obtained recently. For example, Islam clearly teaches that a woman is a full-person under the law, and is the spiritual equal of a male. Also, according to Islamic Law, women have the right to own property, operate a business and receive equal pay for equal work. Women are allowed total control of their wealth, they cannot be married against their will and they are allowed to keep their own name when married.
Additionally, they have the right to inherit property and to have their marriage dissolved in the case of neglect or mistreatment. Also, Islam does not consider woman an "evil temptress", and thus does not blame woman for the "original sin". Women in Islam participate in all forms of worship that men participate in. Actually, the rights that Islam gave to women over 1400 years ago were almost unheard of in the West until the 1900s.
Less than fifty years ago in England and America, a woman could not buy a house or car without the co-signature of her father or husband! Additionally, Islam gives great respect to women and their role in society --- it gives them the right to own property, marry who they want and many other rights. Also, it should be mentioned that the Prophet Muhammad's mission stopped many of the horrible practices in regards to women that were present in the society of his time. For example, the Qur'an put an end to the pagan Arab practice of killing their baby daughters when they were born.
Additionally, Islam put restrictions on the unrestricted polygamy of the Arabs of the time, and put many laws in place to protect the well-being of women. Today, most of the so-called reforms in the status of women came about after the West abandoned religion for secularism. Even those in the West who claim to follow the so-called "Judaeo-Christian tradition" really follow the values of Western liberalism --- but just to a lesser degree than their more liberal countrymen. For more on this subject, please read: Women in Islam versus Women in the Judaeo-Christian Tradition --- The Myth and The Reality. If women in the Muslim World today don't have their rights, it is not because Islam did not give them to them. The problem is that in many places alien traditions have come to overshadow the teachings of Islam, either through ignorance or the impact of Colonialization.

You are collecting rubish from every where!
Your question reveals that you don't know the basics of Islam but you started criticism!!
Islam has given "the equal" rights to woman which no other religion or culture had ever given to her.
Please go to Islamic webs or join some Islamic society for information.

Does it even matter? Women's rights are determined by the rights law provides them, not the rights they are accorded in religion. Admittedly, this is the one and the same thing in societies ruled by Shariah.
Take the example of the fact, that one man's testimony is equivalent to the testimonies of two woman in Islam. One male witness=half a female witness. Women are also not entitled to an equal share in their father's property. Women are supposed to consider their husbands equivalent to God. I do not call those "rights".

when you are in heaven you can ask for whatever you want wither you're a woman or a man.
the reason that it's mentioned that men get virgins in heaven but woman aren't mentioned is that we all know that women and men are different what appeals to men may not be important to women, women are more interested in having jewelry, beautiful clothes....etc plus unlike men women are shy in nature so it would be embarrassing for women to be promised with men in heaven
so they are both promised to what they want and they can ask for anything.
Talking about the status that women have in Islam is a very long subject this site will help you

According to Arab culture all rights have been given only to man, that is why Allah promised 72 virgins for a man and women are ignored by Arab Allah.

That '72 virgin reward' is false. Sex is not rewarded. Women do have rights in the muslim faith. They have a right to keep their own money that they earn, they have a right to choose who they want to marry and in some cases women have more rights than men e.g. Two quotes from the Quran: 'Those who are best are those who are best to their wives' and 'Paradise is under your mother's feet'
