Your question asks when can we expect them on a grand jury. A grand jury is a much different animal than a normal petit jury, which is the jury we are all summoned to serve. A grand jury meets in secret and hears evidence and decides if an indictment should be issued. A petit jury is the one that hears the trial and decides guilt or acquits.
Everyone who is registered to vote, or who has a drivers license can be called. Rich does not get you off. Fact is, most of the time I get called, which is once a year, I get called off without going in.
To get on a grand jury, you have to apply for the job, which takes a fair amount of time and pays no money.
Bottom line is that famous people get called, some even serve. Since it is not publicly announced and many do not live in large cities, you may just not know they got called.

No. All American's must complete their civic duties, but they are not required to have had civics classes in order to complete those duties. We do have some American's who education did not come close to actually attending those types of classes, that does not prevent them from having to complete those duties. If it were a requirement... do you know how many people might skip those classes just to get out of doing their civic duty.

I, for one, don't want to see Paris Hilton or Lindsey Lohan on any jury of mine, they've got enough of their own problems to deal with. And talk about distractions, the case would become all about them ... and that's not justice!

I understand what you're saying but the whole idea behind a jury is to get impartial justice served. Anytime a celebrity would serve the whole trial would then be about them, not the defendant.

It's just the way it is.

Jury duty is all our duty. The rich can just get around it and often do.
