Mostly christian fundamentalist websites call Science as satan's weapon against humanity.
They call Science as tool of Satan but they never forget to take their children for Polio Vaccination, do they?

I love science , in fact I work with it every day.
Science is for the most part good logical thinking.
What sometimes happens though is when men try to solve questions with either with too little evidence or based on incorrect evidence the scientific 'fact' at the end of it is flawed.
We can see this down through history all of the famous scientific blunders , eg world is flat , world is riding on a giant turtle , earth is center of the universe and on and on and on.
In time science generally does find the truth of a matter.
Until then though its 'facts' should be treated as what they are , 'mans wisdom'
Mans wisdom is however very limited.
The Bible on the other hand contains Gods wisdom and things it has talked about have been proven to be true.
A person can rely on the Bible 100% as it wont mislead them , but follow the thinking of a man , and who knows where you will end up.

I love science even though I have a firm belief in God. My religion (Islam) is totally compatible with science. In fact, people of knowledge are given a very high status in Islam and education is made compulsory for both men and women. God created Ssience after all, and with a good understanding of scientific facts, one can see that the Quran does contain the truth.
But I don't deny some people of other faiths dislike science.
Oh and by the way, someone above has said the earth is near the centre of the universe. It is my duty, as a scientist, to inform you that the earth is at the centre of the OBSERVABLE universe, not THE universe. Two very different ideas.

I love science and enjoy teaching 5th grade science. I teach by my states frameworks. The children enjoy the scientific method and lab experiments, they love to learn about life, physical, and earth space science.
I only have a problem with it in my personal life, when people try to use it to disrespect my right to believe in God. They always say "give me proof". My faith is my proof, it may not be a scientific answer but I don't feel my religion has to be justified by science.

in other words, science is not absolute, it grows by being opened minded and continually testing, excepting and allowing "theory" to fill in the gaps until a greater understanding can be achieved from further testing.
In order to build the better mouse trap, one must not focus on the construction of the trap, but why the trap is necessary.
Science pursues the unknown, the mysterious, the undiscovered.
I don't see any thing dirty about science.

Only to the fundys and people that abuse it . . . I'm an atheist but I wont swear up and down like some that scientists have it all 100% proven, i just think they ahve found enough to disprove most theories made by the religious.
Science goes against what most religious people have beaten into them from birth, so i guess anything that could possibly say what they devote their whole lives to is a myth is evil, to them . . .

Science is only bad to to the religious sheeple until it comes time for them to have emergency medicine or doctors diagnose an ailment. Then science still takes a back seat because 'god' healed them, even though they were saved by the evil science. They also do not have an issue with enjoying the MANY other life saving and life comforting things that have come as an result of science(the auto, air conditioning..the list is endless)

Acquiring knowledge based on facts is good.
But surmising, which cannot be proven even if it is based on facts, is not science. Therefore, it is bad.

Science is a good thing, not a bad thing. The abuse of science is bad. Forcing "facts" to fit theories is bad. Changing the so-called facts whenever the theory is proved wrong is bad.
Edit: I've got to chuckle. From the thumbs down, apparently there are people who think that using dishonest means to prove your theory is a good thing. Now THAT is scary.

science is not bad at all, it helps people, but it is important to think as science as an instrument and not to fall in the paradigm of scientism (putting science over everything else, even over human beings, their needs, their morality, their life)
