Luke 8:10-12 speaks of a seed that saves. Jesus was sowing these seeds long before the crucifixion. And he added something about the Mysteries (secrets) of the Kingdom.

And this is not about a "sacrifice for sins," because Jesus expresses his feelings about that in Matthew 9:13... "I will have mercy, and not sacrifice."

Not knowing the secrets he was giving his disciples is quite a big deal, and I am not hearing anything about this mystery. Are theoloigians not willing to admit they don't know something?

This is exactly why the Lord has called Apostles and has a living priesthood on the earth. So He can reveal to them the mysteries of the Kingdom.

However, much of Christianity has no knowledge of this simply because they have no clue where to look for it.

The "seed that saves" is clearly explained in that Scripture. It is the word of God, which God had been "sowing" since Genesis 1:1. Two/thirds of that "word" was already written and available at the time Jesus lived. We refer to it today by the name of the Old Testament. When you read it. you will find that the main theme or purpose of that word was to point men to Christ. Jesus confirms that in John 5:46-47 (among other places).

In John 12, Jesus shows that the "seed" also refers to his sacrificial death. He states that it has to "fall into the ground and die" before it can bring forth fruit. He spoke that signifying his death.

Finally, the quote in Matthew 9:13 is directed to a specific group of people in a specific situation. When the religious leaders were criticizing Jesus for reaching out to "sinners", he reminded them that it was more important that they have mercy towards others then sacrifices given to God.

What the people were to do, of course, had no bearing on what Jesus was to do. Unlike them, he did not give sacrifices to God. Rather he WAS the sacrifice. His act of sacrifice was the ultimate act of mercy for all of mankind. And also the unltimate "seed" sown to bring fruit.

The Christian church is currently teaching the "secret" of the seed as explained by Jesus. It shows people how to take God's word, recorded in the scriptures, plant them in their heart, and bring forth a harvest.

the seeds represent the words of Jesus which were recorded for us...to know the mysteries of the kingdom..his words are life for us...to know and understand his teachings is to know the mysteries of god...only those who belong to them will understand..and those who reject him will not understand, thus considering them mysteries.

in Matth Jesus was quoting the old testament
Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

this was to show that what is in the heart is more important than religious activity, because the pharisees were too involved with rules, and not enough with keeping a merciful and pure heart.

The great difference between the sacred secret of God and the secrets of mystery religions is, first of all, in content: God’s secret is good news and is not a lie or man-made deception. (Joh 8:31, 32, 44; Col 1:5; 1Jo 2:27) Second, those who are chosen to understand the sacred secret of God are bound, not to keep it secret, but to give it the widest possible proclamation and publication. This is revealed, as noted in the foregoing, by the Bible use of terms such as “preached,” “made known,” “manifested,” and also “declaring,” ‘speaking,’ in connection with “the sacred secret of the good news.” True Christians exercised the greatest vigor in telling this good news containing the understanding of the sacred secret to “all creation that is under heaven.” (1Co 2:1; Eph 6:19; Col 1:23; 4:3, 4)

God stated through Hosea what He wants from us: “In loving-kindness I have taken delight, and not in sacrifice.” Jesus Christ drew on those words and expressed the thought this way: “Go, then, and learn what this means, ‘I want mercy, and not sacrifice.’” (Hosea 6:6; Matthew 9:13) Our demonstrating such mercy is critical to maintaining our own relationship with God. Note how the apostle Paul linked being forgiving with imitating God: “Become kind to one another, tenderly compassionate, freely forgiving one another just as God also by Christ freely forgave you. Therefore, become imitators of God, as beloved children, and go on walking in love.”

“The seed is the word of God,” Jesus said. “As for that [sown] on the fine soil, these are the ones that, after hearing the word with a fine and good heart, retain it and bear fruit with endurance.” (Luke 8:11, 15

The mystery is the word of God. Only those with an open and receptive heart will understand it. That is what Jesus was telling them.

The truth of God is not so difficult to understand it. The devil made many people blind spiritually. They have eyes that don't see, ears that don't hear and hearts that don't feel the pain of other man. Theologians often want to muddle up people so that people thought that only theologians can understand the truth. In every science and religion there are many charlatans.

The fact is brother.. the kingdom begins with a seed. If we look at Mark 4 we see that Christ as the Sower went about planting seeds of the word into the hearts of men. The ground of the hearts varied. Some where hardened by the worldly traffic, as such the seed of the word could not penetrate the hard compact earth and the birds of heaven typified by satan took the seeds.
The next heart we see is one that is full of rocks. In this heart the seed sprung up quickly but within the soil there were rocks which are symbolic of hidden sins. Because of this the roots of the seed were not able to spread further since the rocks were in the way. When the sun which typifies hardship and the trials and tribulations of life came, this seed withered and died. The roots were not able to sustain the seeds by drawing the needed nourishment and the sun which should have been a means for the seed to grow instead was death blow to it. We need to deal with the hidden sins through prayer before the Lord and apply the blood of the Lord to cleanse and purify us.
The third ground was this of the thorns which symbolize the anxieties of life and the deceitfulnes of riches. With the seeds on this kind of heart, it grows to a certain extent ,but then these thorns grew up alongside the seeds and utterly choked out the life from the seeds. It is no light thing when the Lord tells us not to be anxious for our living. He knows that by being occupied being anxious we loose sight of our Lord and that He is able to care for us sufficiently. He also said that its harder for those who seek riches in this world to enter into the Kingdom.. riches and the love of it deceives us into thinking that if we have all that we need we will love and serve the Lord with more peace of mind. Actually the love of money is the root of all evil. Its interesting that the word uses " root" to speak of loving money. It takes root in our being and drives us to make more and more. Even when we do not have much ,money we think of it so much that it takes over the Place in our hearts that belong solely to the Lord.

Brother... there is the gospel of Grace but the Gospel of the Kingdom is different. With a Kingdom there is a certain sense of Ruling and Kingship with Authority. For us to be the Royal Priesthood before the Lord and with the Lord we first need to have Him deal with our hearts. This part of our being that is to be His Throne.
If we are careful to deal thoroughly with our hearts before the Lord for Him to ensure that our hearts are the fertile good earth.. free of hardness and rocks as well as thorns.. then He can grow in our hearts and send His roots deep. The persecution of the sun will help us to grow instead of serve us a death blow because we would draw deeply of the hidden springs of Christ in our spirit as we call upon His name and pray day by day. We would have the supply to withstand all things.

THe development of this seed becomes the realm for Christ to rule. If He cannot rule as the King in our hearts then where is He to rule?
Could He rule this world if He cannot rule in the hearts of His chosen people?
May we see this clearly. Our hearts is the Ground.. the HOME of Christ.
" That Christ may make His home in your hearts through faith, that you being rooted and grounded in love" Eph 3:17

Again we see the words' Rooted and Grounded' .. all related to that seed of the Word planted into our hearts.

Notice brother in this verse in Ephesians we have ONE HOME.. not homes. and its made up of many Hearts.

As this good earth and realm for the development of this seed we are producing SOMEONE. Christ. He is this seed of the Kingdom growing and spreading and being produced from our life and living. We are under His ruling day by day. May we give the Lord such a way to gain more and more ground in who we are in our choices.. our tastes our preferences .. in what we say and do.. because He needs the Kingdom to COME.. for the Will of the Father to be done.. on earth as it is in the heavens. He is our exaulted Head in the Heavens and We are His body here on the earth.

May we take this day's portion of grace and press forward amen
