why are all nascar fans so single minded and dont like other motor sport, and dont like gordon, and think that nascar is the best in the world when it only goes in america. grow up im not saying hate nascar but you should try looking at other moter sport.

I don't think Nascar is the best. I prefer sprint car racing, but Nascar is a close second. I've watched all types of racing from all over the world, and those are my top two favorites. Who cares if Nascar isn't popular all over the world? Look how popular soccer is everywhere else, and we all know what a yawner soccer is. We're fine where we are, thank you.

I watch the other motorsports but the IRL and CART are beyond boring. Having trouble fielding 25 cars this year at a race and generally there are 3 or 4 on the lead lap. IRL is doing everything possible to get a win for Danica, at some point I think they will wreck all the other cars just to get her a win. The F1 is nice to watch but I don't like the 'team help' that goes on, reminds me of the Tour de France. Nascar cars tend to hold up better during the race and the finishes are much more exciting. Also while not in F1 but in the other two series, the cars are too easy to drive. Look at the same tracks that they drive that Nascar uses. Texas is a good example, the drivers never had to even start to slow down to run during the whole race. I also like the real pit process when mistakes can make a difference rather than the simple fueling and tire changes in 7 seconds.

I am slowly beginning to enjoy other motor sports. As a new NASCAR fan (started watching in 2003) I am only now beginning to feel like I understand how the sport works (points, sponsorship, drivers).
You have a point about some people being closed minded when it comes to thinking NASCAR is the be all and end all, but don't paint us all with the same brush.

Why Why Why Do you care what I watch?
First, you don't even know me. I enjoy all types of racing.
Hell I have even raced a lawnmower.
Second, Nascar is not just a redneck sport anymore. If it's just for American's as you put it, then why are a number of F1 and other drivers flocking to Nascar. I'll tell you why, The Money Baby. Why when Nascar went to Mexico and Canada both countries set new records for attendence at a racing event? Because the people want to see it, plain and simple.
I'm not knocking others but you brought the subject up.

Ive been a NASCAR fan my whole life but Ive been going to sprint car, modified, and any local dirt race since the day I was born. I watch ARCA,Sports Cars, IRL, Champ Car ( I call it CART), NHRA, F1, F2, basically anything with 4 wheels I'll watch. NASCAR is the best stock car racing. IMO though, dirt racing is the best racing you'll ever see.
I don't like Gordon because its been put into my genes to be an Earnhardt fan, and I will be that until the day that I die. He is a hell of a driver though, I would never take anything away from him.

What makes u think u know what all of us think?? Do u have a crystal ball??? I grew up around all types of racing. Been to the Indy 500, NHRA Nationals, IHRA Nationals, local dirt tracks, many NASCAR races. Personally, I have a serious need for speed. Luv Top Fuel & Funny Cars!! AHH, Luv that NITRO!! By the way, the spelling is motor, not moter. Hating Gordon is part of it. Trust me, he's not alone. That's why we live in America---Freedom of choice.

Never said I didn't like other forms of motorsports. Honestly I tried to watch F1, I just couldn't get into it for some odd reason. WRC looks like a blast, I've watched a few sports car races that were pretty cool. If I bash any form of racing it's because someone's come in and bashed the form of racing that I prefer. BTW I have no problem with Jeff Gordon.

You are painting with a very broad brush there, Renior.....
1. Not all ( love drags, WRC, F-1 is ok, but...., Hate IRL & CHAMP). Hell, I'll watch offshore power boats race.
2. Thats whats on tv. (Nascar has better coverage, F-1 come on at like 7am on a Sunday, 24hrs of Le mans is a great race if Saturday nite live sucks)
3. Best? Well I don't see any drivers flocking to IRL or WRC. Everybody wants a cup ride or is interviewing for one. Just ask Juan Pablo & Ricky Charmichael or Villenuve....
4. Hey what can I say? Like John Cougar sings, "This our country....."

I also watch IRL , CART, ASA , USAC , NHRA ,WOO,Goody's Dash,Super Dirt Late Model, Pro Cup and basically any type of stock car racing .
However Nascar is my #1 favorite
Nascar has done exhibition race's in Japan( 1996-1998) and Australia(1988) . The Busch series raced in Mexico. I believe that Nascar even raced some in Canada .
I guess that its just what you grow up watching and depends on what type of racing is most popular in your part of the world .Stock car racing especially Nascar is most popular here in the USA

If it has wheels, and it competes against another vehicle, I will watch it. my favorites are Off road racing (short course and desert), Dirt Late Models, Tractor pulling, demo derbies, ARCA racing, and NASCAR, pretty much in that order. While I do have other motorsports intrests, those are my tops.
I created my own forum for racing, and it includes every category of racing/motorsports that has been listed in this thread. If anyone want to talk racing that is not strictly NASCAR, IRL, or F-1, mine is the place to go.
