OK, you have probably heard a lot of people say that Global Warming is just a natural cycle, and that there's nothing we can do to stop it from occurring. While there is some truth to that (Global Warming is a natural cycle, and it's going to occur no matter what) there's something else out there that's messing up this natural cycle, and is making it like nothing the world has ever seen before. That new factor is human activities. Human activities directly affect the greenhouse effect (which directly affects Global Warming), you see greenhouse gases a natural in the atmosphere to keep us from freezing over, but since the beginning of the industrial age, we (humans) have added excess greenhouse gases into the atmosphere that aren't suppose to be there (and the more we add the harder it is for the earth to remove them). These excess gases trap more heat and release less causing the whole earth to heat up (a.k.a. Global Warming) this is NOT good because the slightest change in the earth's climate systems can affect the entire thing. Causing new climate patterns to emerge that we may not be able to adapt to (and about 1/3 to 2/3 of the worlds species as well).
But there is still hope. We currently have all of the technology, money, man power, and resources we need to EFFECTIVLEY slow Global Warming back down to its modest warming over thousands of years.
To get more information, evaluate your daily impact, and to find out how you can start reducing your daily impact (cheaply) go to climatecrisis.org and/or think.mtv.com and/or nasa.gov and/ or http://liveearth.msn.com/green/myths
And if this still isn't working for you then I have a question for you. In about 30 years (if humans haven’t decide to change our ways, go green, and slow down the effects of Global Warming to its natural rate) and the effects of Global Warming have set in so far that there's nothing we can do or any one after us can do to reverse what WE have done, and my children/grandchildren and you children/grandchildren have to live with the horrible effects What are you going to say? What are you going to say when they ask you, "What were you thinking? Why didn't you do anything?"
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO SAY?

First show me some global warming not caused by solar activity. From the 1850s through 1940 we had a noticeable warming fueled by a spike in sunspots. The warmest year here was 1934, which was cooler than the average during the MWP. Then through the 40s and 50s it cooled a little bit as Co2 levels rose dramatically. It warmed slightly in the early 60s and then cooled again in the 70s bringing on the great Hansen’s first appearance on the world stage promoting Co2 as a global cooling gas that was going to drive the world into the next ice age and starve or kill most of the worlds population. Then just as this was getting off the ground the sun spot activity jumped again and things started warming up again. So on the advice of Al Gore Mann and Hansen rewrote their whole scenario to match his alarmist book and altered the NASA temperature records to coincide with Co2 levels. This heating period ended in about 2000 with the hottest year of the cycle in 1998 well below the 1934 record year. Since then low solar activity has allowed cooling to set in and real scientists are watching carefully to see what direction temperatures are going to do. Recently Hansen, Gore and some of the other alarmists have admitted to 20 years or more of cooling before it starts warming again, but they at this point are guessing the same as anybody else!

You're never doomed until you accept it. If the world is to end, the question becomes what to do between now and then. The best way to look at that is to ask yourself what will things be like at the 1/2 way point? Or 2/3? Or 1/3? You and I may not live long enough to see 100% but odds are that our children or grandchildren will. So it's a matter of what kind of life we can provide them.
One group, the Permaculturists are focused on identifying and preserving, the plants, animals and skills needed to survive without technology. The skills are very important. It does you no good to have a field of flax if you don't have the means to spin and weave fabric. I know people who could build a simple blackpowder firearm. But knowing where to get the charcoal, sulphur and saltpetre will be essential too.
Preparing for the challenge is a daunting task, but the other choice is just going belly up. We've faced many other predictions of doom from the scientific community that were accurate at the time they were made, except that people took action. That could still happen with this, but time is running out. The main factor is the Fascisti of the Microcephalic. They control everything right now, and they'll do or say anything to keep it that way. You've seen their posts on here, I'm sure. Whenever the lightbulb finally goes on for them, they will be too busy fighting with one another for control of the dwindling resources to bother with anyone else. That will go on, probably for the remainder of our lives. During that period, it's just a matter of "disappearing" from their line of sight, and their limited attention spans.
Within that group there will be a number of switches from one technology to another, as succeeding technologies fail. These will in many cases be associated with transfers of power among factions within that group. When all that is done, they will become predatory nomads, in large groups, with only numbers on their side, preying on those who were prepared as their only means of survival. That is the eventuality our children and grandchildren face. It's our job to assure they will be ready.
It's possible that the earth can recover, once the pollution stops, whether it stops by the fiat of nature, or intelligent design on the part of the polluters.
If that does happen, would you rather have that earth in the hands of those who made their best effort to meet the challenge, or those who sought only to prevent that happening?

I think our future generation is doomed for lack of parental guidance with global warming a close second. I believe the kids in our society today do not have the proper help from their parents to make good choices and use the best judgment whether the parents are single and working or in most cases now i am seeing lazy or on drugs and alcohol. It is very sad and disturbing. My children don't quite understand why their friends parents are never around and many of their friends are being raised by their grandparents. Crazy but true. I know this didn't answer your question totally but all is true know matter what. Have a great day.

It's a bit drastic to describe future generations as being 'doomed'. Global warming leads to climate change which has many serious implications, we're seeing these all around us from the Arctic to the Antarctic and everywhere in-between. These changes have been ongoing for decades, they're slow and progressive and will continue as such for quite some time yet, even with our best efforts to reduce the effects.
The consequence is that the impacts of climate change will become more and more evident and widespread as the years pass, but not to the extent that future generations are doomed. They'll need to adapt and the impacts of CC will be more acute, humans are very adaptable and in most cases CC will be a costly adaptation to a changing climate.

There is no such thing as global warming. So what, it's been hot. How do we know our earth didnt do this 500 years ago? Our learning is too new to know wheather or not our Earth heats up from time to time. Plus I live in NC and in the begingin of September it is SMOKING hot with humuduty. I mean in the high 90's. It has been in the low 80's the past few days.
A girl friend of mine that lives up north said this year has been surprisingly cold this summer. YOu know everyone needs to check out all the history we have had about big uproars like this. What about 20-30 years ago when it was all over magazines and newspapers and the news that we needed to pepare to go into an iceage that was on it's way? Look that up. It never happened.

In the year 3000 there are still human beings. But they live under huge plastic bubbles which control light, and temperature. Global warming brought about great floods which derived many low-lying countries of their land. Fortunately at that time, Man has explored space, and found more habitable planets. This has released the pressure on the countries that are well above sea level. Man had to to make the Mountain Regions home, and this caused massive over-crowding. My theories are based on the info I receive from my Extraterrestrial friends, in the future. So don't worry they still enjoy a world of sorts.

Global warming is inevitable. There is nothing we can do to stop at this point. The good news is that humans one of the more adaptable species on this planet and necessity is the mother of invention. The next generation is not doomed and the human race will carry on. It may not be what we at present consider pleasant or desirable, but it will be common place for our children.

Humans have actually thrived during warming periods in the past. Read about bothe the Roman Warimg period (When Britain had a thriving Wine industry) and the Medival warming period (When the vikings lived and farmed in Greenland).
Stop being afraid and read the peer reviewed scientific journals, not Hollywood produced PowerPoint presentations
