what are your opinions of this. im not talking bout a sign if God is real, but say for instance you want to know if your in His will, so you say ok Lord if this is what you want me to do then this will happen. do you think that is wrong?

let me explain. i was wanting to go into business for myself, was very much happy and peaceful bout it. i needed my business license, but didnt have the money. so i said "Lord if this is what you want me to do then you will provide the money for me tonight or tomorrow, guess what i got the exact amount needed for the license the next day. i put a time limit on the money cause i knew eventually i would have it. i had no idea where i would get the money if it came between that day and the next day. so again He answered me. i dont feel that way is wrong, but of course i dont know everything.

If you read Gideon's story, he "cast the fleece" only after he heard from God. It's alright to seek external confirmation (that's how I define casting fleece), but do also include an internal confirmation (peace in your heart concerning your decision), and make sure your decision does not go against any biblical teaching. Seeking help from your Pastor or Christian friend will help a lot too.

Um, guidance is the business of the Holy Spirit. Often Christians talk of receiving (sensing or experiencing) peace from God when they seek the right way. "I felt peace about choosing school over work."
A problem exists when Christians/would-be believers ask God if they should be breaking his revealed will. "God, should I live with my boyfriend?"

A lot of people don't possess a fleece, all they have is the Bible. A good thing too - beware of putting God to a test.

For those who don't know what she is talking about:

Jdg 6:36 ¶ And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said,

Jdg 6:37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; [and] if the dew be on the fleece only, and [it be] dry upon all the earth [beside], then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.

Jdg 6:38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.

Jdg 6:39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.

Jdg 6:40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.

Someone once told me that, if you throw out a fleece that there is a very good chance you will get fleeced.

I think that's a bit dodgy yes. It's like asking for proof and if we had proof then no one would need faith.
