All sorts of problems. My problems were compounded cause of some other problems in my life.Starting with financial constraints, nepotism, hostile attitude on the part of interviewers, sham interviews, outright rejections, and what not to name a few.But it is only perseverance and doggedness attitude, that kept me going and finding my first job. Thereafter, one learns the trick of the trade, and it is smooth sailing all through. But to tell you the truth,it is only gift of the gab that pays.In many interviews that I faced,I have found much better candidates not faring well simply because, either they lacked self confidence or they were handicapped in expressing themselves. The key to success is,Your presentation of self,i.e; well dressed, well groomed coupled with an everlasting smile. That does half the work and secondly comes the grace. One should not be servile in attitude.Dont adopt a slave like attitude at all.Be firm in your views.Even some amount of dictatorial attitude also pays.Show that by rejecting you the company stands to loose. All these combined in right amount starts paying.Presently also at my ripe age, even when I am desperately wanting a job in a particular concern,I dont display it outwardly and rather display a careless attitude. And believe me,this has got me my jobs most often.

I have faced hurdles too when I've looked for jobs. A major one is that I haven't had the skills to get jobs that pay well; I've ended up settling for low-pay jobs that I could get, but in the long-run didn't want. Right now I am asking myself some questions, like: What do I really want to do? What kind of job will I be reasonably happy to do each day? What are my skills? Am I happiest working with a group or alone? Does my job need to be something meaningful, like helping people or am I fine doing a skill like assembly work? This time I will look for a job I want to do, not one I just have to do.

Finding available jobs can be tough. I used newspaper ads. and friend's "word of mouth" statements about open jobs. I even went to a company that finds people jobs once. It can help a lot, but it can also cost some money. Many states have free workforce placement offices that can provide training and help in locating actual jobs. This service has some qualifications about who they will help.

Fear and insecurity can sure be a hurdle when looking for work. I practiced answering questions before interviews. I did my best to be polite and well-dressed. I even prayed for help in finding and obtaining a job. I feel that helped me; that God cares about my life enough to aid me.

You didn't indicate your age or stage of life, but you sound young. It might help to think of getting a starter job to get some money coming in, but then look at getting schooling/training to help get a better position down the road.

Just going out and applying helped me gain the skill of presenting myself to potential employers. It helped me get over my nervousness.

I'm sure you will figure things out and find a way to get over whatever hurdle you face. Good luck to you.

I just have some advise; always bring work history and school history. Make sure you have a typed resume. Go to the library and look for a book that shows you how to write a resume. Everything should include dates, phone numbers.why you left when you left, when you started, supervisors name, what your duties were, how many people you supervised, and when you do an application do not leave any blank spaces even if you have to put in NA. Be dressed in your best clothes ,clean fingernails, neat, combed hair, well groomed. You can even put in there any learning experiences like boy scouts, math club or any clubs that gave you good experience . When they see you are organized that is your best advertisement. It would not hurt to have some letters of reference with your resume. Make plenty of copies and put them in a neat and clean file folder. You can even get letters of reference from teachers or past employers.Always check your spelling and punctuation.

Needing surgery and not being able to work until the surgery was done.

Once my financing for my surgery came in, I was able to have the surgery and then I was able to get back to work.
