Just think: at any moment the city could be torn apart by a massive earthquake due to the location of the San Andreas fault. Hundreds of thousands of people could be killed instantly.

If such an event would occur, would christians take the time to criticize the stereotypical view of the "immoral" behavior (gays, lesbianism, etc) that was seen there and that's the reason "God punished them" in a sense?

That's what always happens. People move to a cool city, it ends up killing them-- and all of a sudden "God did it".

No, it is a wonderful open minded tolerant city who does a lot more for human kind in terms of Christian acts than do many christians esp. of the Robertson/Falwellian/Pope Benedict order. San Francisco gave us the UN, Hippies, Music, Gay rights, Womens rights, Animal rights, it respects all people of every creed, religion, ethnicity and lifestyle. It feeds its poor gives refuge to the outcast of society and accepts those that the rest of the world cannot or would not. Incdentaly Homosexuality has NOTHING to do with the destruction of Sodom and Gomarrah.

degree ok (the single telling the SFPD to no longer enforce prostitution regulations) has no danger of passing. We get those issues each so many times on our poll, and the sane contributors of the community sigh and vote it down. definite, we do get vast earthquakes. we are placed precise on the fringe of two plates, and their circulate reasons quakes. San Francisco must be crammed totally with non secular Christians and we would nonetheless run the comparable odds of the super One leveling the city. via the way, the biggest earthquakes ever in North u . s . got here approximately close to New Madrid, MO interior the early nineteenth Century. We save it interior the Sierras the place it belongs. The SFBA has led the country in subculture, innovation, and progressive thinking. i've got lived someplace else, and that's my domicile. definite, sometime the Hayward Fault will enable loose and we will get devastated. be attentive to what? we will build ourselves a clean city so the subsequent you will rip it down returned.

I personally don't believe that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of homosexuality see this verse:

Ezekiel 16:49-50

Now this was the sin of Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen.

Homosexual behaviour is not mentioned.

Christians have already blamed gays for 9/11.

"The ACLU has got to take a lot of blame for this. And I know I'll hear from them for this, but throwing God...successfully with the help of the federal court system...throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools, the abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked and when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad...I really believe that the pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way, all of them who try to secularize America...I point the thing in their face and say you helped this happen."

--Jerry Falwell

"I totally concur." --Pat Robertson

Let's not forget that earthquakes are caused by faults in the Earth's crust. But religion says that God is perfect. This perfect God was not so perfect after all.

I challenge you to show me where it says in the Bible that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of homosexuality.

Now this was the sin of Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen.
—Ezekiel 16:49-50

In this way San Francisco is far better than most because its citizens actually help their poor and needy.

Only if your name happens to be Fred Phelps.....

Seriously, the same people who would say it was "God's Judgement" said the same thing about New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina even though there were more innocents that died than immoral people.....
