I have an almost 1yr old JRT and she destroys all the toys i buy for her. I have tried tennis balls and she pulls the top layer off and busts them open. Stuffed animal type toys she pulls seams apart. I'm at a loss here. She does not like the rubber type squeaky toys , i have tried those and they are never touched. Please help!!

A landmine! They are feral little dogs that should be banned! Sorry, had a bad experience with them.

Oh man, JRTs can be bad about that!

Try Kong or rhino toys. They'll still get destroyed, but it will take longer than a stuffed animal or tennis ball.

Kong makes a ton of different types, and you can stuff them with goodies or even make frozen dog treats with them if you want. That will help get her interested even though they are hard rubber, and it is mentally stimulating for your dog to figure out how to get the treats out.

You might also try racket balls. They aren't fuzzy like tennis balls so there will be less to shred, even though she'll probably still destroy them.

My best friend has 2 JRT's...they are so cool! But like you said, they like to destroy toys! Dogs are like people and they have individual "tastes" so the best thing to do (my opinion) is to go to the pet store and get a variety of toys...make sure that they are "durable". JRT's like to chew so get the ones that can withstand chewing!

We used to give our JR big 1.5L soft drink bottles and she would sit on them and practice unscrewing the cap. It takes a bit of encouragement, but if you can get her to straddle the bottle and she knows there's something in there to reward her (i.e. a small bit of peanut butter smeared inside) then she would sit there for hours twisting her head around the cap til she unwound it.
