He's healthy, gets regular check ups and teeth cleaning, exercise etc. For the life of me with incentives and two easy access doggie doors he still goes to the bathroom in the house and has ruined my carpet.

Well, he's 14 years old. So that makes him about 100 human years right. I'm thinkin' I'm gonna be poopin' and peein' everywhere but where I'm supposed to if I live that long,lol =).
I say buy him some doggie diapers to put on or rip the carpet up and put down tile, it's healthier anyway. But diapers is cheaper =).
Let him enjoy his last days =).

at 14 years u should stop trying put down alot of puppy pads or if ur dog is willing to still try to learn try crate training its really the only way but i wouldnt dare on a old dog

you could get him one of those doggie diapers..theyre kind of a pain but its better than the carpet getting ruined :/
