Disclaimer: I am NOT interested in these specialties for the money. Please don't come on here saying, "Why is it all about the money?!" It's not.

Now.

Everytime I try to find salaries for physician assistants, I always hear people saying, "...depending on the specialty".

Well, here are my interests:

I would like to be a physician assistant in surgery, cardiology, and/or neurology. I really want to do surgery most of all, though, and might settle for cardio-thoracic surgery.

How much does a cardio-thoracic surgical physician assistant make?

A surgical physician assistant is the surgeon's right-hand man (or woman).

Of course there are surgical physician assistants. And they are paid much more than a nurse.

Physician assistants work anywhere a normal physician can be found. Some are even self-employed!

And yes, physician assistants DO work in surgery (and other areas, too). If you don't know enough about the profession, please don't answer.

The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career. A PA with a specialty can make anywhere from 100,000 to 200,000. And thats depending on the area. Some make 100,000 plus per patient where they make 300,000. It all depends in that degree. But you'll be making 6 figures.

Never heard of P As doing surgery assistance .

Nurses work in surgery , assisting the docs ,
P As work at the office .

And you will Not do surgery unless you are a doctor / surgeon ( although maybe in a 3rd world country ) .

Unless there has been some change this last 2 yrs
