I am a 16 year old male from California and I feel like sad/mad everyday that i'm alive and breathing. I get mad easily on small things that's not even that much of a big deal. And I'm not like this, I used to be cocky and fun to be with but then like when I was about 15 and a half 'til i turned 16 last February to now, I am completely a different person, like totally different. I have no idea what to do with myself. Sometimes I feel like there's no need for me to breathe but I told myself that i have to be strong and positive. It feels like the sky and earth collides.

I'm also stressed out from family problems, school and sexuality. And also having crush with someone. Sometimes, with all this things, I just throwed up. Seriously, I'm not kidding

Hi. I'm a 15-and-a-half year old from California too. I now how you feel...like, everything looks grey, nothing seems fun anymore. I'm dealing with similar problems--family dysfunctionality, self-esteem, pressure and crap--that sort of stuff--but I find it really therapeutic to write. And well, to cry. Writing helps me sort out my feelings, even if its incoherent to me later, and crying helps me release tension.

If you're really sad, just talk to someone. I don't talk to anyone about my problems because I'm afraid to and its driving me crazy. Find a friend and just set some time aside to sort out how you feel about everything.

Consider seeing a psychiatrist or even taking anti-depressants. My sister was depressed and had really bad physical side effects--like migraines that would last for weeks. Don't let it affect your life so much...

Don't despair...you'll feel better once you think things through. If you want to rant--email me.

Age really has nothing to do with depression. My depression started when I was 12 and I have struggled with it for 15 years now. The best thing that anyone on here can tell you do is to see a doctor. Without a professional diagnosing you, you can't be certain that what you are going through is depression. It could be an anxiety disorder, bi-polar disorder or some other type of mood disorder. It took the doctors 11 years to figure out that I had Generalized Anxiety Disorder. The best thing to do is too see a doctor and he or she will more than likely try you on different meds. Some meds work and some don't so you have to be patient. It's good that you want to deal with your problem now. I use to be the same way. Little things would just make me so angry and I'd loose my temper. I was so depressed that I ended up in the ER having my stomach pumped twice. It does get better though. I have been off of my anti-depressants for 4 years now and I haven't had any thoughts of killing myself in years. My anxiety is still a struggle but I am learning how to deal with it.

I am not a doctor or a councilor but just an average person, with strong belief in the laws of nature.Humans like animals, birds, insects, plants and other forms of life, are product of nature and have to be affected and regulated by it's laws. One of it's laws states that if a condition wasn't there before,it can't be there after a time either. Therefore, one thing is sure that your present condition is also temporary.Next, about the present emotional state, it can be due to hormonal changes, which at your age are common. The only way out without going to a doctor would be to take control of yourself in a planned and determined way.If required, force yourself in to physical activities and brief social inter actions.Things WILL change for better slowly but SURELY.You can start NOW with a Smile. All the best.

I am sorry you are going are going through such a hard time. You said you are stressed from Parents, school and sexuality.
When I was 16 my Grandmother died I shared a room with her, my parents got separated, I dropped out of HS to move with my Mom and my boyfriend broke up with me, all in about 6 months. I do have an idea what you are going through.
I went to therapy it really helped me to talk to someone cause they don't judge you ,and you get to tell them what is on your mind, Please look in your local yellow pages under mental health clinics or Family counseling. If your parents don't have insurance the clinic will go by a sliding fee scale.
All the best of luck! Call tomorrow cause it will take about 2 to 3 weeks to get a appointment.

May want to consider a few things and attempt to determine what occurred which may have been a bit traumatic during that period of time. If you experienced any situation where there was considerable emotional response, would be very suggestive. Hopefully the web page will be of help.

Deal with it IMMEDIATELY! Depression in teens is the most commonly ignored problem
Tackle it before it tackles you...and others.
There are a lot of things to consider, including hormones, but someone to listen to your specifics and give you feedback on how to get into a happy and balanced life, is VERY important.
I'm glad you asked. It shows you are ready to deal with it.
