This isn't 'Family' related. Ask this at the 'Sculpture' section.

I don't know that much about sculpting but I do know that when starting something like art you need the proper tools and supplies to make the project come out the way you like. Try to go into the web and check out some areas that deal with natural clay sculpting. It can help get going with what you are seeking and trying to do. Sorry I could not have been more of help. I wish you luck with you success.

well i can't remember for sure so i might leave out a step or two but it should still work. 1) take the clay and sift it as in through a screen like a window screen so that way you have clay particles near the same size. 2) then you take the sifted clay and pt it on a flat hard surface (it helps if you just sift it onto a hard surface to begin with) and slowly and evenly mix it with water by kneading the clay like dough while having a garden hose turned on low so just a trickle of water comes out and just let it flow on the hard surface and the clay. 3) now you should have a thick mud and you should be able to sculpt it.

Your clay may have too much sand and organic material in it to be good for pottery.
You can try mix it with water, at least 3 to 4 times the volume, stir thoroughly until you have a very liquid "soup". Remove all floating organic matters and let the soup settle for several days.
The decanting will leave the sand at the bottom, the clay at the top of the settled pile.
It's a messy process without guarantee that it will work (other factor such as the chemical composition of your clay may prevent it to being used for pottery)

Let it set up a bit inside a cool dry area, aka: in your house, then mold it, and then through it out, because you don't own a kiln to fire it in.

PS: no matter how bad you want it, your oven won't get hot enough, and if you just let it sit out to dry, it will just crumble to dust. Sorry.

This is not the right category for your question. You should probably ask this in the arts section.

if it is too thick add water to it and knead it for a while. If it is too thin roll it out and lay it in the sun for a day so it dries out some.
