He is younger than my dad, and not much older than my oldest brother - btw im 23. I wouldn't say no based on age, but would want to know what sort of guy he was, his personality and stuff and then make a decision. But he is closer to my mums age so that might make things weird.

Well I,m not a woman and I most certianly do not want to date you or any other man BUT I do have something to say on the subject. I see a lot of men in their mid 40's to late 50's who date or are married to women in their 20's and 30's. I myself am 16 years older than my wife. I dont think it has anything to do with your age, if two people are compatible, if they like each other and are attracted to each other then things will take their own course. A lot of women will come up with all kinds of excuse's not to date an older man but when it comes right down to the nitty gritty, the heart will lead the way

If I were single I would consider a 56 year old man if he was a really nice person with the same values and goals as I have. Generally I have usually been attracted to men my age or younger, and younger men have always been drawn to me, but I would not rule out an older man........if I was single.

Would I go out with a 56 year old man, maybe, I would say yes if he was 45 or less, because i am only 26, but you know, if he were a nice man, and good to me, I can not say that I would rule it out. Age is a number, it doesnt make the person!

i would do it just for the experince of it. Sure, i'm 24--is it gross? i won't know till i've given it a shot. Will people think i'm disgusting for goint out with him?...probably, do i care?...nope! Why? Cuz he just might be the most inventive, considerate, and sexual partner I've ever come across...that man has, lets say at least 36 years of solid experience...36 YEARS! No 20-something-year-old could beat that. If the old man was in good shape and was up to going out with a univerisity student with redhead and a little bit of spunk, I'd do it! And if he was rich, then i consider myself a very lucky girl, but i wouldn't push for marriage, sorry!

You might me looking in the wrong demographic of women who would date a 56 year old man.

I'm married. I certainly hope that is good excuse not to date ANY man much less a 56 yr old man.
However, if I was single, as a 30 year old woman I still would not date you. I like to keep within 10 years of my age. It has to do with compatibility and commonality. At 56 your looking at retirement. At 30, although retirement is something I'm planning for, it is not something that I focus on.

What's wrong with dating a 56 yr old man, has his time expired? Of course he has a chance... if he has a positive attitude, is nice, clean, can take of himself financially, etc. If he THINKS nobody will date him, he may be trying to prove himself right! If he thinks he's a great catch, is outgoing and treats people well, he may just prove that he is a great catch! Positivity attracts good things, negativity attracts trouble.

Depends on your age.....I have found that when you get too far in distance in age then you seem to have less in common heck you didn't even go to high school in the same era type of thing......I think 10 yrs max If you are young and want to have kids then having them with someone of that age would not be a good idea unless he has money which still would not fill the place of a father. If your young and you date someone of that age then your either .....1. desperate 2. lonely and desperate. 3. a gold digger if he has money. 3. looking for someone thing you can't get some where else.
