If you already have enough time to know him- his desires, his habits, his friends, his attitudes, his character- and it takes your approval, then go for it. If you only knew few things about him, then take time to know him first. Remember, that he is the one you will spend your life with so you have to be wise in choosing. Don't be just impress with the looks or their skills- they have nothing to do with lasting and satisfying relationship. What matters is his character, his commitment. It will help if you list at least 5 qualities you want for a partner then evaluate if he have all. It's not being a perfectionist, its just being wise and waiting for the right one. God will give you the best mate, so that "best" is worth waiting for.

Just take your time and make sure that you can handle all of his faults, as weel as his good qualities. Also observe how he handles your faults and good qualities.
