What did Jesus mean, in John 14:6, where he says; I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me?

There's some great answers here. Thank for taking the time to reply. However, here a hint to the answer I'm looking for. Where did the Way, the Truth and the Life originally come from?
If you know add the addition to your original answer.

Another song to share.

Jesus said he is the ONLY way to God the Father. Instead of us worrying about how limited it sounds, we should be saying "Thank you God, for providing a sure way to get to you."

Jesus is telling us here that He is the only route to God. This is one of the reasons a lot of non-Christians think Christianity is intolerant. The thing is, there's only four ways we can look at this. Either Jesus was 1. a liar 2. a lunatic 3. a legend or 4. Lord. If He was a liar, then none of the Bible makes any difference now, does it? (Even though our society is almost completely based on Christian/Jewish principles. )If He was a lunatic, then why on earth would millions of people die as martyrs rather than deny the faith? And most certainly He is not a legend, because the historian Josephus tells us of the existence of Christ. So therefore, He has to be Lord. And if God says 'there's only one way to come to Me', then that's the only way there is, regardless of what any other religions say. Jesus wanted us to know that He IS the truth, and there's no sense in looking elsewhere to try to find God, because you have to believe in Him to get to God. That's how God chose to reveal Himself to man.

Means that Jesus is the way in which we are restored back to the relationship to the Father that Adam and Eve had in the garden before their fall. Jesus's death and resurrection undid what satan had done to Adam and Eve. They were under God's authority and protection and life, but disobeyed God and fell under Satan's authority which gave them physical death and spiritual death. We are spiritually born again through Jesus. Jesus restored our relationship with the Father, and when we accept and have faith in that, He gives us our life back (eternal life) and then we are able to come to the Father in a personal way again.

The one way. The only way. The doorway to heaven. The only connection between man and God. The only truth. Life, freedom, the kingdom of God.

Jesus paid a ransom to the Father to spare our lives. He already cleansed the Heavens, once he cleanses the Earth, Jesus will subject everything back to the Father. 1Cor15:28

In a nutshell, no one is saved without Jesus.

John interprets this saying of John 14:6 as indicating that the old ways of Jewish worship, good as they were("salvation is from the Jews")will no longer do. A new era has dawned in Jesus and becacuse of His redemptive sacrifice on Calvary, the way of salvation and life is through Him and Him alone

The Old Testament was the Age of Laws-the New Testament is The Age of Grace-through faith are we saved and not of works lest any man should boast..

the Old Testament Age of Law was given by God to mankind to show them that they could not perfectly keep the laws and to break even one was to break them all-thus a prelude of the coming of the one perfect Lamb of God who alone could provide the sacrifice (replacing animals in the O.T.)

We can't "fake" belief in Jesus for God knows our hearts and the bible says that "without faith it is impossible to please God"-no amount of works, going to church, giving to the poor, etc. will save us, only the shedding of blood by Jesus covers our sins and makes us whiter than snow. We may not understand that but by faith we believe.God is God-He does not have to explain Himself to us but He has revealed His love for us through giving us His son to be our Savior and redeem us from the eternal penalty of sin.

we must accept Jesus Christ first before we are able to dwell in the presence of our Heavenly Father. To accept Jesus Christ means to know him, understand his atonement and live by his standard of truth, be baptized in his church, and endure to the end. When we do these things we will know God and his will for all of us. We are also qualified to live in the presence of our Heavenly Father. If we cannot fulfill these things we are limited in our degree of glory.

Jesus is only prophet that sent to stubborn Israelites during the Roman empire at Israel......if we think logically, how can God be in human form?? that's not make Him Almighty at all as it has His creature characteristics.....
