My best friend and I have been best friends for almost 12 years. We have decided to get matching tattoos but we're having a little trouble deciding what to get. We are both straight so we don't want people to think otherwise.
Here is the picture:

We're not getting the background, just the tigers. We are going to have chinese symbols meaning best friends between the tigers.
So what do you think, it we get this picture as a matching tattoo on both of us, will people think we're lesbians?

We are just getting the tigers not the background.
We are changing the coloring of the tigers too. We are getting rid of the purple and blending it with more orange, and a little pink and yellow. The eyes are not going to be the blue and green like they are in the picture. Each tiger's eyes are going to be one color. They are going to be our own eye colors. Hers are blue, mine are brown, so one tiger with have blue eyes and the other will have brown.
I do like the idea of writing BFF in english instead of chinese

i wouldn't think so, its a neat looking tat. are you getting them in the same place? and if your worried about people thinking you are lesbians you could get it to say like BFF in english or something rather than Chinese. if you asked the tattooist they could fancy up the letters to look better than just normal writing, and then it could still look good and people would know your best friends and not lesbians.
by the way, what people r saying you shouldn't be gettingtattoos of, ignore them, there is no right or wrong tattoo as long as you like it. plenty of people have tattoos of something they have seen somewhere and a lot of people have tattoos of cartoons or logos of places. i have a tattoo of the Martin gear company (although my last name is martin so it makes some sense) but forget what other people think, its what you like that matters.
by the way, to "kitty" ...the only people who would decide not to get a tattoo for your reasoning are people who have a reason to not be identified by the police, and what about people with scars? its the same for them. that was a kinda stupid answer. what are YOU doing that your afraid to be identified by the police?

Just as a personal opinion, If I were you, I would get a tattoo artist to take a similar idea and make it your own. You don't want to be walking down the street and see a 3rd grader with a Trapper Keeper that has the same design as your lower back, ya know??
As another personal side note, just as boyfriends and girlfriends can change, so can best friends. Even though it seems like it now, you might not be best friends forever. It's true and I know from personal experience. Just be careful, is all that I am saying. Like, maybe get a tattoo designed together, but make it something that you will still like if you end up hating this person.

I don't think that anyone would think that you two are lesbians because of that tattoo. That being said, make sure you are absolutely CERTAIN that you want a Lisa Frank baby tiger tattooed on you for the rest of your life. . . . Maybe instead of the tiger, you two could get the same symbol that means something to you both?

Unless you got i am a LESBIAN tattooed across the top of your forehead in big letters, no. I don't really bother to make assumptions about sexuality just based on tattoos alone. So i wouldn't but i can't say what others will think. Frankly though i would not comprimse what you plan to get for a tattoo just because your worried that a few people will think you are lesbian i would just say you might want to get the tattoo some place where it can easily be covered for a job

It's your tattoo, don't worry about what others think. If they want to think that they will anyway so it wouldn't matter. Anyone who forms an ipinion based on tattoos as far as orientation or class is a moron and not worth it ... Personally I think they are cute and it adds to it that they have meaning to you two. Talk to an artist though, don't ask people on the net. An artist is trained to know what works and how. Seriously, don't worry about them. If you have doubts it means it's not right. It has to be important and right for you not others. After all it is your body, do what you want.
-I wouldn't put BFF. It's not necessary to explain it to anyone else unless they ask really. I don't know, I don't like writing in tattoos unless it's in memory of someone personally. An artist can advice you better.

My best friend (20 something years)and I got matching tats back in the 90s. People thought we were lesbians before, we look like lesbians, I guess, but i don't think the tats really have anything to do with it.

Considering I can't judge other people, I don't know what they'd think, but I certainly wouldn't think that of you. As long as you don't put your friends name on there. Now that would be a little weird.
The only names you are allowed to get on a tattoo are family (parents, kids) or your significant other.

people dont think u to be a lesbo by just 1 tatoo.. its more depending on the attitide you 2 share and the intensity you to maintain in public.. its just a tatoo and its natural that 2 gurls have a common tatoo

Here is the thing, if you are going to tat your body, then you can't worry about what other people are going to think...You also shouldn't be getting pics of the Lisa Frank thingys that they put on folders sold at Target and Walmart.
