Just curious,, been looking at alot of things related to these cups and so forth.... was just wondering. if the liquid is just sitting in this cup inside you,. say for instance (might be a really dumb ?but oh well) you are sleeping or are not upright wouldn't the blood try to go back up past your cervix since it's not being absorbed or escaping the body? Any other input on these cups would be appreciated as well.
just learned about these today and my periods are long and heavy so would like to try something new to see if it would help.
thanks

My preiods are long and heavy too.

I use the instead cup. I want a Diva, but can never seem to get the money together;-(

The blood can't go back inside, as the cervical OS isn't wide open and it really just trickles through.

I do tend to leak at night and have to use a back-up pad, but it save having to wake up and change a pad or two in the middle of the night.

I've heard the diva cup leaks a lot less than the throw-away kind.

I've been leery of trying these cups because I assume they trap the blood until the cup is removed. That could be quite a bit of blood that comes out. Years ago, I tried a cervical cap as a form of birth control. I threw it away after one use. It wasn't that difficult to insert but was hard to remove. When I finally got it, a whole gush of goopy, whitish liquid came out. I wasn't suffering from any sort of a infection at the time so I assumed they were normal vaginal secretions that had been trapped by the cap. I wore the cap for about half a day.
