we cant spot reduce body fat so the only way to get rid of your belly fat is by reducing body fat percentage which you achieve by healthy diet and exercise.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), weight training a few days a week but never work on the same muscle group two days in a row (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

In a fitness experiment 3 men were put on 3 different tests to see which one would have the best abs/stomach by the end of the 4 week trial.
man 1 - ate healthy/ low GI meals every day, didnt exercise
man 2 - ran/jogged nearly every day, didnt change his diet
man 3 - went to the gym and did ab exercises, didnt change
his diet.
by the end of the trial, the guy that ran had the flattest tummy.
reason:
man 1 - ate healthy, but this didnt make him actually loose any fat from his stomach
man 3- may have built abs and muscle in his stomach, but still had the fat on his stomach, so his tummy was actually bigger and you couldnt see his abs!!
so the best way to loose fat from your tummy is to do aerobic exercises such as running, jogging or power walking.
to get the best results tho, a little strength training would help too because the more muscle you have on your body, the faster your body will burn fat, also too much unhealthy foods would have a negative effect on any results :)

Believe it or not the best way to lose belly fat is exersize. You should do moderate exersize 3-5 days a week... 30 min each day. when u are tired and you feel like you just hit the wall is exactly when you are losing fat. Also eat healthier and less... maybe try a protein shake thing to fill you! Put music on when you exersize so it is more exciting and move to the beat or rhythm. Brisk walking is great for burning body and tummy fats.
It is my lifestyle now. I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs/14kg and gained better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs/49kg for more than a year, with more fruits and complex carbs.
