I am thinking about getting a scorpian tattoo on my shoulder blade on sat. I know it is going to hurt but i was wondering if anyone who has got a tat there too, and have a experience that i could relate it too, so i know what to expect.

I have always compared the pain involved with getting Inked to a sun-burn or a rug burn scrap...it starts out like a sting but gets numb pretty quickly. The outline is the part where the sting is, because it it is done with a single needle, but the shading and color are done with several needles moving at once...and at a faster pace...so, by that time you really have gotten numb.
The thicker flesh parts I think are much easier to sit thru...getting a tattoo over any bone (ie: foot, ankle, hand) is more painful.
And, one last thing....do not use any type of body lotion on your tat while it is healing no matter what anyone tells you, it is a huge no-no as all body lotion has alcohol in it and it will cause over drying of your tattoo leading to thicker scabbing whick will pull color from the tat. Use a very thin layer of anti-biotic ointment until it's healed. I took that advice some 26 yrs ago and all of my tats over the yrs have stayed colorful and detailed with minimal fading.
Good-Luck & enjoy your Ink!

Ok, now I have angel wings covering my entire shoulder/shoulder blades.... The only way I can describe the pain of getting a tattoo is like this. You know the sound the tattoo machine makes?? That is what it feels like. I am dead serious! My tattoo artist told me that before I got my first one and I was shocked because it is true!

i have a tattoo on my left shoulder blade and for me it did not hurt for me. just depends on how sensitive you are on your shoulder blade.
as long as you go to a reputable tattoo artist, you will not get an infection. also, after the tattoo is done, most tat artists rub it down with alcohol to clean it out so it does not have the chance to get an infection.

it hurts, there is a needle moving rapidly in and out of your skin for (depending on the size of the tat) hours, there is no way around it, but it's bearable...

The sting of the scorpion would probably describe the pain

Getting tattoos can be dangerous if it gets infected.

it doesn't hurt nearly as much as how much the cosmetician expects you to pay when you get sick of it and want to remove it.
