You would do well to read Socrates "Dialogue", if you haven't already. I believe that is the name of his essay, but I could be wrong. Unfortunately, he angered a whole bunch of people with his belief that their is a certain futility inherent in all occupations, and they forced him to take hemlock and die. And these weren't even necessarily religious people. So, be careful dude.
But I agree with you wholeheartedly, I've often wondered and had to also ask why people are so narrow-minded. So far, all I can conclude is that they spend a lot of time being focused on one or a very limited number of things.

No you are right a person's dedication should be only to God not to any group, you are also right no group has all the answers, but God does, and he shares this knowledge with anyone who wants to know, in his Word the Bible, the best spiritual material available and good to read every day. reliance on God's Word can help us to find answers to life's challenges vital questions on life and on spiritual matters, but if a person did dedicate their life to a group rather than God, then they are wasting their time, because all the good things and the good answers are found only with God.

I love it when people say Jesus is the answer. Isn't that actually the question?
Anyway, if you don't devote yourself to a single ideology and focus on finding the answers you can in a single way of thought, you could spend your entire life very confused without much knowledge of anything. Some people develop tremendous scientific knowledge while others develop tremendous spiritual knowledge. I think there are a lot of answers out there, both scientific and spiritual if we will seek them out. I also think there are a lot of answers available to us if we will seek them out. We may not have the capacity to learn it all, but we've got a lifetime to try.

Yes, There are lots of "''theories". Most religions have some TRUTH. The place I know has all the truth is the church that our incarnated God, Jesus Christ the man, established 2000 years ago with his apostles. That is the Catholic Church. If you are searching for the truth, look there.
If you are searching for something that you agree with, go to all the protestant churches, there are 40,000 varieties in the US alone. (Can they all be right too?) Jesus guaranteed the church and its truth would prevail. He gave our pope (Peter and his successors) infallibility on teaching faith and morals. (Not on being human, just teaching the truth).
God doesn't need man, Man needs God.

Well I grew up with my beliefs, and of course as ive grown up and have had different thoughts about my religion, I just cant dismiss myself completely from my beliefs. It just has to do with how you were raised and the people who surround you. I am Christian because I believe in God and the teaching of Jesus and the Bible (not everything i agree with though), but i dont dedicate my life to reading scripture, and i dont go to church because i see it as a waste of time (i never learn anything i did not know already). I have my beliefs but I dont spend time talking to people about it, trying to conver them. To each their own, no big deal.

I am an atheist, and the notion of "dedicating my life" to atheism is ridiculous. I think you are confused.
My decision was not atheism. My decision was rational thought - questioning, searching, embracing only those beliefs which are supported by adequate evidence. That naturally led to my atheism.
If I dedicated myself to anything, it's to a life that is as free of bull***t as I can make it.
Also - your previous question you mention being an atheist "by Christian standards".
The definition of atheism does not depend on Christian standards to exist. If you believe in a god, you are a theist. If you don't believe in any god, you are an atheist. Religious standards and varying definitions of god have no bearing on it... you either believe in a god or you don't.

I think people dedicate their lives to certain groups because those groups fulfill their particular spiritual needs. They don't care about whether or not it can be proven. That is what faith is all about.

I guess it's all about assumptions people assume even if they don't have all of the answers they'd rather have some and then there are those who would wither and die with no religion in their life and the fear of hell is what keeps a-lot of people in church

I am not a JW, but I find their reading material very refreshing, particularly the Awake magazine. Why, then, should their magazines or any religious magazine be any worse than secular books and magazines.

While it's true that no group has ALL the answers...it's ALSO true that you don't need "all the answers" in order to live your life by God's will.
Open your heart and mind to the love and mercy of the one true God. Accept the salvation of your eternal soul thru His Son, Jesus. It really IS that simple.
