Someone said this to me...and I just do understand. I'm SURE you know more about the Mormon faith than the prophet or the 12 apostles....very sure...

If you have NEVER invited the missionaries to your house(or met with them) to learn about the church, or have never been Mormon before, or have ever gone to mormon.org or lds.org, then I don't see how you KNOW more about Mormons than Mormons themselves...

You probably know a lot of misconceptions that people make up because they don't understand something...

I'm not even going to talk about the first post because you started off saying missionaries lie...and I've been through 3 years of missionaries, searched the church from independent sites, and even anti-mormon sites, and they've been able to show me in the BoM where it prooves the statements wrong.

bonger....maybe you SHOULD contact the missionaries and ask the about the "magic underwear" and why they wear it and what it stands for....

They may not be able to tell you a lot about it(because they're not supposed to really talk about it to each other because it represents the personal covenants you made with God when you were baptized.......or something)

Sterling, I agree....while I LOVE Big Love, I know they are a polygamist family which hides that fact and say they're LDS....

but they're NOT and if you even watch the full show(like I do) you can see the impact polygamy has on the family when their LDS friends find out...

Cowboy...you DO have the space...and unless you're in a rush, you have the time...so please, list these contradictions...

It's funny how a Christian(of a different denomination) is showing how there are contradictions in those books just like an atheists talks about the contradictions in the bible....isn't it?

Silverfox, Jesus HIMSELF sent out 72 missionaries in pairs of 2 to cities He was going to...

Missionaries are told to teach 4 main lessons to prepare you before baptism and if you ask any questions they will answer openly...but that doesn't mean they try to hide it.

first don't let oregonflower get to you- she's known for not having much to back up her ridiculous claims- and is very insensitive and judgemental of people even in her own faith- apparantly she is perfect and the rest should not even bother trying to live up to her standards! and if you notice she's got like 2% best answer- and those are probably ones she voted for herself! - anyway your question-- i get into this with my grandpa sometimes- (not a member) die hard catholic. he will ask me a question, and i will give him an answer. then he will tell me how i am wrong, and that's not what i really believe. How can ANYONE tell someone what they really believe! that's absurd! and it's borderline insane for someone to actually believe that they can tell someone what they beleive. i let it go with my gramps because i have learned that he always has to be right- no matter what it is- even if it's how to mop a floor properly- it's always his way. that's just who he is- i would imagine most people that take this approach are like this- to have them actually agree with some of our dictrine, or look at it and say" yeah that sounds right"- it would mean that they were wrong, and for some, that they were wrong for most of their life. It's a huge blow to the ego- and like it says in the bible, pride is sin and the pitfall of man!

Brian...not saying I know "more" than the prophets and apostles. Am just simply looking at the teachings and the one that just jumps out are the same three I keep pointing to.

1-Jesus created or eternal?
2- Jesus only son, or spirtual brother of Lucifer?
3 - As man is, god once was - as god is, man shall be. (This is the most glaring problem.)

Now...you asked Cowboy to write more specifics. I'd like to join him in doing so. Unfortunately, I am currenlty in West Africa and not due to be home for 2 more weeks.

However, when I do get back home, I'll be more than happy to do this. Whether you want the answers here, or in a private email....this will be up to you.

I've seen your posts for a few weeks now. No doubt you love God and want to seek after Him and want to grow in both your knowledge and love. Which is why my advice would be to wait on the baptism until you are absolutely able to resolve the conflict I've stated. One look at the conflicts should be enough to see that Mainline and LDS are not on the same page.

Before choosing either Mainline or LDS, one should be absolutely sure of th answers. Especially, believing Jesus is not eternal and a faithful mormon will eventually reach godhood.

True. We will always be persecuted criticized and ridiculed for what we believe. I think that any true disciple of Christ will experience some level of persecution no matter what religion they belong to. However, I know that noone will feel persecution deeper than Mormons have and will, but the Lord will protect his own. We should find faith in knowing that the Lords work will go forward no matter what.

I quote the words of Joseph Smith: "The Standard of Truth Has Been Erected. No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing. Persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, But the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly and independent, until it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, until the purposes of God shall be accomplished and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done."

To most mainstream Christians, Mormonism is akin to Scientology, ie. a cult and must be eradicated and prosthelizied to ad nauseum. They really don't have all the facts about the religion, just arguing points that their church literature provides. Cable television shows like "Big Love" only further confuse the issue with Christians between LDS and fringe Fundamentalist Mormons and merely add to the religious debate.

DUDE

I can't quite tell if you are LDS or not. If you want to trash on these fools and you want some fun and assistance to do it. just say so.

I love the taste of Anti-Mormons... They think they know everything but they SERIOUSLY DON'T

They simply cannot make the connection between letters on a page and symbolism.

To born agains every symbol is a sign of a wicked evil devil worshipping cult.

BUT They worship the cross. The Tool Used to Kill My Master, Savior, Redeemer.

"Father forgive them for they know not what they do" also includes the fools that worship this symbol of his torture and execution.

Good one Born Agains! Show me in the Bible where is says WORSHIP THE CROSS, WEAR ONE ON YOUR NECK, WORSHIP THE DOVE.

Peter was so incensed by it that he wanted to be crucified on a upside down crucifix.

So if a right side up crucifix is the symbol of Christiandom, and the upside down crucifix is the symbol of Peter and Peter was the head of the Church after Christ left,
WHERE DO THEY GET THE IDEA THAT AN UPSIDE DOWN CRUCIFIX IS OF THE DEVL

Come on Born Agains? Who is the wack job? WHO IS THE SUPERSTITIOUS FREAK?

Come on SHOW ME IN THE BIBLE! JUSTIFY YOURSELVES!

Thou Shalt Not Worship any Engraven Image... THAT INCLUDES YOUR CROSSES, DOVES, ETC!!!

The Symbols on our Temples, tell a story, A BIBLICAL STORY OF PROGRESSION.

What does your cross and dove tell a story of? Your Superstition? Your Ignorance? The Truth that YOU ARE THE CULT that worships the tools used to kill the Messiah?

Answer that!!!

There are many people who are more "well-read" on Mormon literature than your average Mormon. However, they often take the liberty of telling Mormons what they do and what they don't believe.....and that's something that's impossible to do.

I have read the Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, and Doctrines and Covenants, compared them diligently with the Bible and found them lacking. D&C and B of M have so many contradictions in them that they are laughable. It casts a shadow on the religion. And leaves little credence to the possibility of anyone having read them staying a Mormon. A Moron perhaps but not a Mormon. For no thinking rational person could believe those works to be Divine since they are full of statements that contradict eachother. And the contradictions are blatant. I could list over 100 had I the space or time here!

“I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me. . . . When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!” ( Joseph Smith—History 1:16–17).

Anyone can research the basic beliefs and practices of Mormons ... and find that they do not match up with those of authentic Christianity.

Sorry. I don't need to listen to your missionaries to make that factual determination.
