Not a Chance.
In Kandy, Sri Lanka a 400-year-old temple contains what is said to be Buddha’s tooth, “venerated by many millions of people.” Into the presence of this relic the British foreign secretary, Ernest Bevin, was brought on January 1, 1950, in the hope it would miraculously cure his ailments.

Buddha is neither a prophet nor God. Buddhism is not supposed to be a religion either but people just keep adding the mystic and miracles to buddhism to make people believe in Buddha. I believe in Buddha as a teacher and his teaching of how to deal with oneself. Karma and reincarnation are parts of Buddhist phylosophy but I doubt if they are his original teaching. They might be developed by his followers to make Buddhism more attractive to people who search for the salvation of their souls, like heaven to Christians. His enlightenment was a result of intense soul searching and analizing the cycle of life in which all living things revolve around. Buddhist phylosophy deal with people's greed, anger, lust or sexual desire... and how to control them.
At the time when hormones were unknown to people, Buddha could be able to point out that the physiology of human body in those simpliest form of human emotions and desires.
So believing in Buddha is believing in his teaching and practice of control in oneself. Therefore Buddhism is non-worshipping religion. It is up to one to choose how to pratice whether at home or at the temple, depending on the level of your education.
All churches, temples, mosques, synagnoses...want people to come to their place to worship because that is where the religions can grow and provide conform to their followers.
Just some general ideas to share with you but enough to get some Buddhist monks get upset at me for my liberal ideas.

I believe in the 'Divinity" in Buddha. I don't follow His path, because what He said is not in line with the philosophy of Vedas.

What do you mean by "believe"?
I believe he was a wise man. I believe he taught some things that are very good.
I don't believe he was any more than that, and I don't "look to him" for anything.
