 When a Christian or a Jew kills someone religion is not mentioned,
 But when Muslim is charged with a crime, it is Islam that goes to trial!

 When someone sacrifices himself to keep others alive, he is noble and all respect him.

I am a Christian and I feel the same way about the assumptions many people have about Muslims and Islam.

People can be really ignorant, I have to accept abuse for being a Christian, but Jesus said that by following Him I would be ridiculed.

A very good statement you have written and I pray that you won't let what people say about Islam bother you too much. They are only ignorant.

You talk about tolerance, freedom and progress....Land and people...
Why did Iraq work better under the tyranny of a dictator? Why do they fight when they have the opportunity to build a democracy?
Why do women in many Islamic countries have no saying at all regarding to education, divorce, politics (paradoxically, Pakistan had a woman as a prime minister) , careers and fashion. Is that personal choice?
Why is it that when occidental women go into some muslim countries they HAVE TO wear a veil and abide like a submitted woman? Maybe, it is because In Rome, do as the Romans, especially, if you wish to integrate the roman society.
And no doubts, it will not prevent you from worshipping any God you want

I agree, with you, that Muslims are stereotyped in the U.S., and that is terrible. I am not Muslim so I can't know how it feels, but I am sorry that you have to experience the pain of other people's unknowing, thoughtlessness and down right malice. Especially in a county that prides itself with freedom, peace, love, and understanding.

Furthermore, I think that most all people are very ignorant and/or stupid no matter where they come from. I believe that hatred is uncalled for since it spawns from stupidity and ignorance. Seems like such an easy problem to solve if education were the answer.

People should call-out others when they hear them make hurtful, uneducated comments about someone based on there sex, creed, or race and politely remind them that we all come from the same place, the planet Earth. We are the ONLY humans that we know of, and we ALL share this ONE planet. So we all have to get along.

Since the earth does not hate, hatred it is not a natural thing. Just like love, hate is a verb, a human action. It requires doing, having, feeling, or thinking something. It is something that we must learn and thankfully can be unlearned.

Hate is a source of fear. We as humans should not be afraid to rise up and stand against the things that are bad within our society, such as stereotyping, racism, sexism, prejudice and biases. ALL people people deserve the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Peace to you my friend.

Muslim, Christian, Jew. whatever. You're all nuts and need to open your eyes.

YOU ARE PRACTISING AND FOLLOWING CONTRIVED AND BADLY FLAWED WRITINGS FROM HUNDREDS / THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO WHICH IS UNINFORMED, INACCURATE, CONFLICTING IN DETAIL AND SIMPLY SERVES TO SEGREGATE, ISOLATE AND PROMOTE INTOLERANCE OF OTHERS. There is ZERO proof for the existence of God and therefore the validity of any religion. The reason people believe it so much is because they are taught it from a young age by people who, similarly, were taught it from a young age. If I was taught from the age of three that the colour blue is in fact called 'pillik', and this was hammered in to me all my life, I too be would SURE that I was right and argue it with others who disagree. WAKE UP and take a few lessons in simple human psychology.

Any person decidating themselves to ANY religion needs a serious counselling session and rehabillitation.

The reason Muslims are targetted more-so than those of other 'faiths'- is because Muslims are (recently) in the public eye more than people of other religions and that Islam is the most extreme, rule-bound and outwardly aggressive of the well-known religions. Yes, Christians are just as deluded as Muslims, but there are fewer extremist maniacs waving a Christian flag and killing in the name of religion. Go back a few hundred years and you'll see that Christians were the most aggressive, war-mongering religious people, killing thousands in crusades. It seems today that many Islamic followers are taking a similar extremist stance. THAT is why so many Muslims are persecuted. That in itself is not right, but then neither is murder in the name of a blind, out-dated religion- no matter what name-badge it wears.

I think ALL religion should be abolished. It is out-dated, contrived rubbish and simply causes problems. If religion didn't exist we wouldn't be having this debate right now and a few hundred million people would not have died in the name of 'religion'.

I agree that there are hypocritical inequities and injustices perpetrated against people of your religion by Western Leaders.

I agree that the Iraq war and its atrocities are unjustifiable.

I assure you that I did not support any of these things and that (like most Westerners) I want it to STOP!

I actively speak out (and write to politicians) against violence of any kind, especially mass violence that targets any group because of ethnicity.

I renounce the unconscionable actions of any person or group that commits violence or hinders human rights, especially in the name of any religion.

Alas, ...there will always be evils associated with any philosophy that claims to know "the one absolute truth." Whenever one group both thinks they have a moral right to impose their ideology upon another, there will be evil.

Islam and Christianity both have long histories of violence and brutal repression.

Yet, I do not hold all muslims responsible for any attack on Western soil, nor should you hold all the citizens of any Western country accountable for attacks against your country or people. our leaders are to blame. To the extent that we cannot control our leaders, we are to blame, but that does not mean ALL of us are accountable. Many of us opposed and still oppose this war and all of its associated crimes.

Personally, I would be happy to let you have your religion and have your land and whatever form of government you want. So long as no one threatens or harms anyone, I wish them peace and can live with them in peace. Here again, we have let our leaders and profiteering corporations run amok. However, individual citizens have limited power to thwart the powers that create these situations. Only by reaching an overwhelming majority of opinion can a populace regain control of its leadership.

Religious differences have harmed and endangered us all, even those of us who want nothing to do with religion.

Renouncing all religion seems like a reasonable approach, but I know that many people will not accept that. So, the only hope is that ALL religious people at least gain the sanity to renounce all violence and repression in the name of religion or against any other religion.

That is something that EVERY individual CAN do, and should do immediately.

1, I've never EVER heard someone say a Muslim who grows their beard are terrorists...

2, Most Muslim women are forced to wear a burkha...nuns CHOOSE to be nuns...

3, We don't make our women stay home anymore...we DID liberate them...

4, UHHHHH DEFINITELY NOT ABOUT THE HIJAB! It is so unfair how Muslims get special privileges...a guy wears a hat and is told to take it off but the Muslim girl is NOT told to take it off...

I'm not even bothering with the others...it's obvious you hold a grudge against Christians and westerners by just looking at this post...so just say it, you know you want to...

Yes, there is a fundamental hypocrisy, as you have pointed out. However, what you neglect to point out is that some of the very customs of Muslim countries encourage these perceptions by endorsing practices such as female cirumcision, or not allowing women to drive. While I don't disagree with you, not all the cultural practices of Muslims are as enlightened as you would like us to accept here.

Good points... Society shouldn't be like that, and every where you turn you hear people complaining about racism... but the reason people are like that in America is because we were attacked, remember 9-11? We worry about it happening again. I don't think all the facts are straight tho. The media likes to mess things up sometimes, plus the government officials like to lie. I'm sorry if people are putting you through grief, but there is my answer.

i myself have grown up in a christian house however i am an athiest and have learned to dispise most religion but you make a strong point with what your saying the reason why you may feel the world is like this (and unfortunately it is) is because western society has a high ratio of christians to any other religion and seeing as though western culture is practically run by 'psychotic neo nazi' like people where they only care about their own belief system and dont open their mind to anyone elses thoughts causes muslims like yourself to feel isolated and and suppressed in society is also because muslims and christians are practically worst enemies since the start of both religions is another reason why stereotyping and prejudism sucks towards 'minorities'
