I recently had three people very close to me pass away. I want to get a tattoo, symbolizing my remembrance for them, but because they were all so very different, I cant figure out how to do it in ONE tattoo. Does anyone know any symbols that mean "always remember" or any symbols for life? Any help would really be appreciated. I'm very open minded so if you have any ideas that you think would be helpful, feel free to send them. I'm looking for creativity as well, as I'm not big on tattoos because I feel they are all too alike now-a-days. Thanks for any ideas.

so sorry about your loss. one death is enough but 3 close together is way too much! i like the rosemary sprig also, and it can be given further meaning to place it in the mouth of the old school style sparrow, or around it somehow. for sailors, the sparrows meant that they were close to home as sparrows would only fly so far out to sea, and your loved ones have gone home also. another symbol that i always think of as rememberance is the poppy flower. during memorial day services with our american legion group, we all wore poppy flowers, and the legion/ auxiliary presidents would lay a poppy wreath at a cross. just a few good ideas. you can simply do something that can sum up how you felt about them, and add names it a banner which is common for rememberance too. my husband has his grandfathers initials in the center of a cross. talk to your tattoo artist, let him know what you are wanting. if he/she's any good, they can ask you some questions, and try to put something beautiful together that will honor all of them in a way.

I'm sorry for your loss. That must be so hard. The herb rosemary is symbolic with remembrance. I'm not suggesting you get a tattoo of a rosemary bush, but it may be a good "filler" where you'd normally see something like a ribbon or thorny vine. Maybe use it like a wreath around whatever else you choose or in the hand of someone pictured?? A roman numeral 3 somewhere could tie the 3 together.

Well, one thing that is a symbol of remembering is a rose. However, it seems as though a great population of persons have roses these days.
Weaping figures, such as sparrows and angels are also a sign of remembering, or a tear to any illistration.
So there is a base-tear's and roses. However, of those three figures, what item and or illistration could you use to incorp. all three together and create your own memorial to them?
You can also do another route-of dates, names or the like information.

this may be a bit much for what you are looking for but i plan on tattooing a graveyard kinda thing on my leg, a tombstone for every loved one that passes away although that could be too big for you, but on the other hand, with that you could always add more if someone else died.
by the way, hope ur doing okay, just remember, death is a natural part of life.

Same here, but I finally decided. Two sparrows set against rose backgrounds holding a banner in their mouth that says "angels watch over me" in German. But to each their own. I know if you look, there a website that translate english into chinese for you. Maybe that will be a help.

Since they were so different but they all meant somthing to you and make up who you are, maybe you could have the artist design some type of puzzle piece thing like in the shape of a heart?

i have a memorial tattoo for two people in my life who had their lives taken way too quickly. my highschool coach who was murdered and a friend in college who died in a car wreck. i thought a lot about it and decided to get a tattoo of a skull. not to be morbid or trendy but because skulls really are a representation of death and everybody dies. so my skull tattoo reminds me of two very important people in my life who didn't know that they wouldn't be able to say their goodbyes. i try to always complete things that are important in my life and not leave things unsaid.
here's a picture of my tattoo
