how come guys can hook up with a different girl every night or get laid with a girl he just met and be considered "the man", but if a girl goes out and randomly hooks up with a guy or even a different guy every night or sleeps with him the first night, she is considered "a slut" or "ho"?
i have slept with guys the first night i've met them before, and when others heard about my sex history and that i've had one night stands, they considered me a slut. but i have a really good guy friend and he gets to sleep with pretty much any girl and all his other guy friends consider him like a fricken god!!! wtf??? if guys can do that, why can't us girls??? We have our physical and sexual urges too!!!
i'm sure you've heard this question before, but i was just wondering what other people think...

The biggest reason is that the majority of women see it as more of an emotional deal, and thus are less likely to give it up whereas the majority of guys see it more as a conquest and therefor are trying to get it as much as possible. Some of this goes back to the day when birth control wasn't as prominent or effective so it was a much bigger deal to the girl since they had to deal with the consequences and a lot of the guys would just ignore the fact that they had a child. Personally, I agree with a lot of the people that I think guys that use and abuse women just to get laid are pigs, and I don't look up to them at all.

When I was growing up I thought of the same thing. We girls (females) did it to ourselves. Let me explain to you, there is nothing wrong with a girl doing the same thing a guy is doing. The only difference is this in the past our history women were under men and now women wont accept each other and encourage one another. Females have this jealousy towards one another so when a female is having intercoarse with several men another woman would bring it as a negative allowing the men and women to call you and I S***'s but if a man told his friend, the guys will encourage one another to do so. The only difference is how our perspective (womens) needs to change towards one another. for example if a guy wears something another guy would never even pay attention enough as a woman would towards another woman and even make remarks like "eww what is she wearing" we do it to ourselves.

ya male or female if u sleep around you have no self respect. Basicly the part where most find it acceptable for guys to sleep around goes back for thousands of years where guys controlled the females basicly. It was drilled in our heads that this is how it was women had to obey the men. But things are changing and people dont like it. So the people of the world will have to get over it. Women are no longer subordinate to man they are equal to men.

There is a double standard in this country. You're not going to be able to change it by yourself, so one piece of advice is not to tell people your sexual history until you've known them for 3 years.
Some people feel that women have more to lose from early sexual activity: pregnancy, disease, committment to the wrong guy, etc.

That is EASY to answer. Girls can get sex so much easier than guys. A guy has to ask and ask and ask, facing rejection after rejection until someone says yes. That shows persistence. A girl has to sit there at a club, look cute, and at some point, a guy will walk up to her and proposition her. Now tell me, which looks worse? It's easy for you, you even get to choose who to have sex with, you get to reject guys. The guys on the other hand have to ask around until someone says yes. Much harder.
An analogy: Imagine a person who is born rich, now compare that to someone who works hard to attain their wealth. Which is more admirable?

I totally hear you, but that is just part of the guys being able to do whatever they want, and the girls are just to conform to the idea of the guys.
You are supposed to be pure and clean, except when the guys want to have their ways with you.
That is just part of it all I guess. Not very fair at all, but that is just the way that it is.

because society was designed by man for man. it had been this way for thousands of years. in the man-designed society, of course it is alright for man to sleep around, but not for woman.
even today, in many third-world countries, many women are killed, raped, and tortured simply because they sleep with people whom their fathers' don't approve of. from this perspective, you should consider yourself lucky.
quite frankly, woman put up with this for her own survival. in the old days (i am talking about more than 100 years ago), a woman needs a man to survive.
with that said, if someone tries to tell you something, you should tell them to f off.
technology revolutionized the world not only by changing the material world, it also transitioned woman's role in the workforce. in summary, woman no longer need man to survive.
so, why should we put up with the BS anymore?

double standard. i have had the same situation although no one ever called me a slut at least not to my face. if you don't have a problem with your behavior screw someone else that does. just have protected sex and make sure you aren't sleeping with guys for other reasons that aren't the right ones.

that is straight forward.... Introducing a woman to oldsters is a intense step this can be made previously marriage. So if he does not introduce some female to his mothers and dads then possibly he does not evaluate their relationship to be solid and significant for him. He in basic terms dates together with her for intercourse, for excitement maybe for friendship yet not extra.

We live in a male-dominated society which has a double standard: where when men sleep around, it's a sign that they're verile and able to reproduce...Which is what our society thinks is good. Women, however, (to please the men and society in general) should be pure and clean. They should not mess around because they're soft, delicate creatures who should not be "soiled."
