i try to take the beam out of my own eye first. the only
way to connect with another sinner is to know how
to get the sin out of your own life first. the brother is
probably lost or has been given false doctrine. some
sin by not knowing that they are. having compassion
was what YESHUA was talking about. love helps
to disolve difficult and troublesome sin. praying helps
more than anything else.

Of course. Jesus said it, that settles it.
Matthew 18:15 But if your brother shall trespass against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he will not hear you, take one or two more with you, so that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. 17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he neglects to hear the church, let him be to you as a heathen and a tax-collector.
You have to have the right attitude where the goal is to speak the truth in love hoping to show your brother the error of his ways so that he can recognize and correct his mistake. You don't go around gossiping about the offense before hand although it's often a good idea to pray about it and to examine your self so that you don't try to remove the speck from your brother's eye when you have a log in your own eye.

We reprove a sin, to help save the sinner!
Sometimes the situation requires "tough love", even in the home, with our loved ones.
What do we think about this advice, “He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.” Matthew 15:4-7
More harm is done by letting your neighbour go to hell, without ever having warned him.
The criticism of a friend is better than hypocritical compliments from brown nosers and hypocrites!
Jesus told us to expect fake Christians: "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."
They call us unloving because we will not tell them it is OK to sin.
When you reprove a sin, you help Him to save the sinner!

Matthew 18:15
"If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
Yep..I sure do & that is exactly how I responded to your other question regarding; what I would speak with my pastor about. :) (Though I ALWAYS hope & pray that I will have "won" my brother BEFORE I would have to take him before others.)

Yes. WE are to go to the person that we believe is in sin, talk to them, humbley and hear them speak and point them to the word of God. God says if we dont offer rebuke to other Christians, we will be held accountible for their sins also. So of course any christian should believe in rebuke, and God says those that are His will love and enjoy rebuke, cuz we want to always bein the right standing with God.
Great question, as usual....

Yes. This guideline was given to believers by Jesus. It is about the sins committed against you and not others, and conflict resolution in the church, not the community at-large. It is not a license for attack on every person who hurts or slights us..
It is all about reconciling those who disagree so that we can live in harmony

But of course. Isnt that what the Bible is for?
Mat 18:15 ¶ Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
Mat 18:16 But if he will not hear [thee, then] take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
Mat 18:17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell [it] unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

Absolutely.
If Jesus said it I believe it His Word cannot lie,
it was written in the Bible I'll believe it til I die.
Though mountains be removed and cast into the sea,
His Word will stand forever, throughout eternity.

You must look at the following verses 16, 17 to go along with that one.

Can you think of a better way to help someone correct their mistakes and help them maintain their respect?Too often we don't want to say anything because we might hurt someone's feelings and/or they might be mad at us for doing it. But would we all not be doing better and our witness be stronger if we practiced this with each other?
