hi i seen your question and it caught my eye because i have naturally curly hair plus i am a hair dresser in a very popular salon in the town that i live in the best thing to do is CHI Silk Infusion wich is a serum but also to have a CHI straightner because no serum or gel will make your hair straight it all in a good straightner like the one i mentioned you can find this at an exclusive salon just call around and ask if they sell this stuff

Try a blow dry lotion, serums are too light and gels are stiff. Redken has a few that are awesome ( http://www.redken.com ) Or got2b has one too, which you can get at walmart and such. Use a paddle brush (the big squareish kind). That puts more tension on the hair which is necessary in the straightening process. Then try a heat spray like Redken "spray starch" or "hot sets" with your flat iron. Make sure to brush after that or you'll have stiffies in your hair, lol.
